I met one of Elvis Presley's classmates today.

She was really nice and 83 years old, her property was damaged by the tornado here in Chattanooga on Easter. Sweet lady...thats her in the red and Elvis in blue on the right when they were in 4th grade. She didn't remember a lot about him other than he was very poor but he was the nicest person in the entire 4th grade class.

There was a guy stationed at Dyess AFB that went to high school with Elvis. I got to know him because he was an Airman in my old man's squadron, spent several holiday dinners with our family. He had some cool stories to tell.

My kids mom father played with him before Elvis was drafted. She remembered him coming to family get togethers. He always sent ticket and back stage passes for them when he played close to Dallas. Never forgot.

I saw Elvis at a QuikTrip a few years ago.

That is a awesome tale!!! I have one- my great-uncle use talk about when they lived in Tupelo there was a skinny kid that would play lot football with them that couldnt play very good, but always keep trying. Said you couldnt forget his name. Elvis!!!!

Ask her if she drove to Carbondale on October 27th in 1976 to attend the biggest concert in the smallest venue Elvis ever played in...i bet she was there.
