Corona projects?

Corona projects? - 04/04/20 02:39 PM

For those working from home, working less, furloughed, or laid off....what are you doing with all the extra time on your hands?

I built my shop over five years ago and haven’t touched in in four years....I’ll be working on serious cleaning/organizing and finishing wiring it. Make it a usable shop where I actually know where things are.... rofl

I may actually grout that shower I've been putting off for a couple of months now. Then again I might not!

Working in the shop sounds much better! Mine needs a serious cleaning too. Some slob has been throwing bottle tops and cartons around the fridge.

Re: Corona projects? - 04/04/20 03:09 PM

I'm still working 40-50 hours a week but my wife is working from home watching the kids and making sure score gets done so I do not get to go check the crappie after work etc. So last Sunday I cleaned the garage added some garage storage above one of the doors. [Linked Image]

I am working today just ran up to home Depot and got the stuff to make a camp shower. We have a pop-up camper and generally use the public restrooms at the state parks but I think I'm going to build us a shower so that we do not have to use the public restrooms at all.

roflmao

I know the feeling. when I moved a couple times I threw away a dozen or so tomato baskets. This year I did not go buy new baskets I went down and cut some bamboo out of a field and I'm just going to tie those tomatoes up.

Should fit right in with the cheap meat you get from spending time in the deer stand.

Cleaning garage, making room to tear front end out of the ‘68 Bronco. Get the front axle regeared to match the back and upgrade to power disk brakes.

Still working 40+ hours a week at the hospital but working on a four car garage with apartment/gameroom/theater above.
It is great, productive therapy!

Cleaned and organized the garage and barn. Sanded and stained some patio furniture. Trimmed suckers off of about 50 trees. Cut briars down on back fence. Been cooking a lot. Cleaned out some filing cabinets. Next up is stripping and cleaning some weaponry. Probably burn a brush pile later today - hard to believe it is 39* right now!

Still working my 40+....I'm normally work at home about 70% and then 30% on the customer's sites (typically a week at a time). I kinda like the No Travel thing.

I've been putting off some interior repainting (did the exterior last fall). Tackling one room at a time, at a laid back pace...

Working 55-60 hours a week. Too wet and just yucky to do anything outside. Cleaned the garage a couple weeks ago. Now it's too cold to fish. Bored to death. Already gained 10lbs since the shutdown.

I haven’t been home in six weeks, and I’m quite thankful to be working, right now.

That’s good news... We are staying steady but trying to limit non-essential activities. Likewise, glad (lucky) to still be employed....

Re: Corona projects? - 04/04/20 06:24 PM

Doing a lil fishing behind the house. Pretty bored. Usually always doing something or traveling. Haven’t seen my miss lady friend in 3 weeks except FaceTime...we always have a lot of fun together. Sure miss her.

After cleaning your weaponry I'd recommend putting clothes back on prior to burning a brush pile. LOL

Planted garden, now have goats and rabbits. Working with the grandkids.

Re: Corona projects? - 04/04/20 06:36 PM

Been making wooden stools for those graduating senior tennis players. Tomorrow I’ll put a primer on them. I’m covered in sawdust, but I do smell good (pine). Stool painting will take me into next week. After that I have no specific plans. I do have a 4x4 blind that I could enlarge to 4x6, but based on the last one I did (2 months ago) that’s a lot of work. I could cut and split firewood. Also a lot of work.

Already did all the reloading, unless I buy another rifle in a different caliber and load for it. And there’s fishing, if the rain will stop.

Crappie fishing as weather allows. Worked on boat and maintenance stuff. Burned some brush.

Cleaned shop and rearranged stuff. Did some wood lathe projects.

Trimmed limbs with pole saw. Cooking most all meals on grill. A lot of stuff to do in addition but don’t care to do it.

Shooting some neglected pistols.

Re: Corona projects? - 04/05/20 03:20 PM

Did some grout repair in the showers, stripped the wax off a dining table I refinished and rewaxed but it still looks like crap. Touched up some trim work inside and outside. Filled in some dead spots in the grass with some sod, etc, etc. Drank a lot of beer. Probably going fishing today even though the weather is still suspect here.

Re: Corona projects? - 04/06/20 01:22 PM

It's either too windy or going to rain any day I've had a chance to spray my pastures - so I've been selectively mowing when it dries up just enough to get in the fields without rutting it up too bad. Probably will build a dog wash rack/station for the wife this week. A chicken coup is in the plans also. Done lots of fishing. Crappie started moving up shallow at the end of last week before the front.

Still "working" - coming into the office for a few hours Mon/Wed and "working" from home on Tues/Th. Heck I get more done this way work wise and still have a ton of free time. Think I should switch over for good.
