Had to look him up. Undrafted. Only rushed for 700 yards over 3 years at Purdue.

My dad feels the same way. Die hard Eagles fan who hated Reid’s tenure in Philly towards the end because he was so frustrating in the playoffs. He said he would be happy if Big Red wins a SB.
I feel the same way. I’m really just hoping for a great game, but it would be good if Reid finally gets his ring.

Would like for Mahomes to hoist the trophy, but history shows Reid can't get it done in the big game. Regardless, I will root for the Chiefs just because of a Tech QB.

Re: Official Super Bowl Thread - 01/20/20 09:17 PM
Ried's history plays heavily into this, when it's time to nut up or shut up, he is known for playing too conservative. Mahomes is an amazing guy/athlete, so if the Chief's can pull it off great. But I really think the 40 whiners are the better team.

He hasn't had Mahomes playing for him in the past. I like the Chiefs, but the 49ers will be hard to beat. Chiefs by 7.

Being how I picked the Packers to be there I guess my picks are not too good, but I did pick the Chiefs to get there before the playoffs started. The 49ers are good but they aren't great. Yes they beat the Packers twice but the Pack doesn't have any real star players other than the qb. They made it on willpower and not talent.
Mahomes is on fire and the Chiefs have been starting slow but they adjust and destroy other teams.I think they will do to San Fran the same they did in the last 2 games, control the game and do as they please.

No dog in this fight, just hoping for a good game. Kinda' ironic San Francisco is where the kneeling fiasco started, and unless memory fails me (quite likely) the owner of the Chiefs was the first to nip that crap in the bud by announcing if any member of the Chief's organization in any way disrespects the National Anthem or the flag in any way, shape, or form, they will not longer be a member of the Chiefs organization. So I'm pulling for the Chief's.

CHIEFS
2019 Defense: 19.1 points per game (7th) 348.5 yards per game (17th) 5.4 yards per play (15th) 219.0 passing yards per game (8th) 59.9% completions (3rd)
Guess what the 49rs do well. REALLY WELL.

Besides being a better team, here is another reason to pull for the Chiefs!
https://www.wearethemighty.com/sports/patrick-mahomes-charity-veteran-homesThe Chiefs' star quarterback spends his free time building houses for veterans. The biggest new star quarterback of NFL doesn't get a lot of free time. Practicing is as important as game time, so when the time comes to relax, it's understandable that a young football star might actually rest. But it turns out Patrick Mahomes, the Kansas City Chiefs' young QB, is a star both on and off the field.
The second-year QB spent his day off helping build transitional housing for veterans in the Kansas City area with The Veterans Community Project, a non-profit that's building a specialized community network of tiny homes and services dedicated to supporting every man and woman who served — also known as Tiny Houses for Homeless Vets.
The founder of the Veterans Community Project, Chris Stout, is a former U.S. Army corporal who was wounded in Afghanistan. His own transition into civilian life was marked by trouble with PTSD and employment issues. Though not homeless himself, he told CNN he was shocked at the inefficiencies he witnessed in the programs designed to help vets escape homelessness.
When Stout discovered homeless vets shunned shelters because they were unsafe and lacked privacy, he paid for hotel rooms out of his own pocket to keep these heroes off the street — but that too was inefficient. Eventually, he and his friends left their jobs to start the VCP, helping veterans first and asking questions later.
Clusters of tiny houses made perfect sense. That's what VCP builds for veterans. They offer privacy, dignity, and a chance at recovery for those who need a hand up.
"We are the place that says 'yes' first and figures everything else out later," Stout said. "We serve anybody who's ever raised their hand to defend our Constitution."
Chris Stout is currently one of CNN's Heroes, an annual event where the cable news network honors ordinary people who make big changes in the world at large. Stout is up for CNN's 2018 Hero of the Year Award. You can vote for him here.
The Veterans Community Project has built 13 homes in the Kansas City area and plans to double that number by Nov. 8, 2018. Some veterans housed there have been there since January 2018 while some have already made their way into more permanent housing. The goal for the VCP is to have 49 homes and a 4800-square foot community center built by the end of 2019.
For Mahomes, it was an important part of being welcomed into the Kansas City community. The Chiefs star QB wasn't able to risk a lot in terms of heavy lifting, but someone has to paint the houses.

Here is a little something I picked up a few years ago that kinda goes along with the Super Bowl today. I am a Texas Rangers card collector and came across this one several years ago. Cost me about a penny or two (no joke). No its not the Super Bowl Mahomes, Its his dad when he was in the minor league and before he pitched for the Rangers. The auto is legit. And you seriously expected anything different....halftime is as fake as the game....it's nothing more than political correctness theater anymore....

How dare you criticize Shakira. She can just shake to no music and get a 10

Didn’t understand a word of the halftime singing, but I liked the arse shaking. I was in west Tx all weekend and listened to Spanish with no arse shaking. I prefer my Spanish with arse shaking!

It’s entertaining seeing all the people on social media talking about it. It’s J Lo and Shakira for crying out loud... they are know for shaking their rump and it’s how they made their millions. Did anyone really think they were gonna come out in blankets...sit on a stool and sing?

Re: Halftime Show - 02/03/20 03:17 AM
KC and Mahomes did it! They adjusted and attacked second half. The proved they are the best through all 4 quarters this year. Crazy but they did it all games. There was no way to count them out.

Glad he was able to pull it off. At half time I thought SF was going to start pulling away but they kept themselves in it. Heck of a game!

He is the youngest player to ever win the MVP. The game was the second biggest comeback ever. Chiefs dominated in most stats including total yards 397 to 351, as well as time of possession.

Thought it was a great game. Was a little worried in the 3rd qtr when SF started running hard. Kudos to the Chiefs for hanging in there. They could run the table next season.

Even though I joked about wardrobe malfunction, I thought this was the worst halftime show that I can remember
Last good one I remember was Bruno Mars.
That gal did a very good job singing the national anthem
