I’d bet it’s more about not wanting to give money to those who are beating the system

Which is fine, add welfare to it as far as I’m concerned

If they can work, make em work

We see it all the time in the office (medical).

Medical records being requested for people who are healthy enough to work, but are trying to get disability.

We do not get nearly as many as PCP's offices.

Social security disability is a great thing for those who really need it but like welfare there are way to many who are just looking for a government check that they don't deserve. Most all Social security disability applications are denied the first time, the the lawyers get involved.

Don't worry you don't have to be a US Citizen to collect social security, you work enough and pay in enough you are entitled to it. I know a couple non US Citizens whom are on Social Security.

Not Disability, but SS retired at age 65 or 67

I think this has to do with reducing the length of time someone could be reviewed to determine if they still qualify for disability. My wife is full time. She never fully recovered after her six neck surgeries and still requires full time pain management. It didn't help that her neck broke after surgery #4, which required emergency surgeries #5 and #6.

Cut a finger off and have a Doctor sign off on it as a disability and you get a paid.

Ruptured your Achilles, and recovery fully but have a doctor sign off it cause a 10% disability... and you get paid

System is ripe with abuse
