Thomas update

Thomas update - 12/22/19 11:55 PM

Went to the hospital for noon feeding today. Got there to find his feeding tube and nasal cannula GONE! Only thing remaining is his IV. That’s been lowered way down and if the catheter goes bad they won’t replace it.

Mama got to feed him twice. He fell asleep during the first feeding and they threatened to replace the feeding tube if he didn’t finish his next bottle. 3:00 feeding rolled around and he drained that sucker in 10 minutes. food

Hopeful that he gets home for Christmas.

Re: Thomas update - 12/23/19 11:36 PM

Little man is still doing great. Eating like a champ. He was jaundiced this morning and they put him under lights after lunch.

Worst news in this is that he will have to stay there for 24 hours after they stop the lights to make sure numbers stay down. That’s going to make it real tight for us getting him home for Christmas. Still hopeful for that though.

Dates and times don't matter. Him and her matter. It's gonna be the best Christmas ever, even if it's a few hours or days late. Christ was born in the Spring ya know... bolt

Re: Thomas update - 12/24/19 08:24 PM

Congrats on that new baby! They are resilient little beings, I'm sure he'll be just fine.

The long eared gallute in the middle was the same way... spent a week in the NICU and a couple months on a puls/ox sensor and monitor at night at home. Scared the poop out of us as he was our first... then the little brother came, and the sky darkened... had he come first, there would not have been two! smile

Enjoy that baby and Merry Christmas!

Re: Thomas update - 12/24/19 11:47 PM

Christmas Eve update: he should come off last Bili light at midnight. As long as levels are good tomorrow morning and he continues to eat well, we should get him home tomorrow.

He currently appears to have his daddy’s appetite. Eating 2 ounces 3 hours on average. [Linked Image]
