Barnwood - 10/08/19 08:28 PM

I was dropping off some of my old discards to a local benefit yard sale when this caught my eye. I paid $8 and brought it home. Deal or no deal?

Hate to bust your bubble but I think that’s fence wood.
But you still got a good deal.

Nice find and functional piece. Look like a real seed sack decoration? Bet you have seen those before Bill. Hard times flour sacks School dress's with pretty patterns were very popular marketing tool of the depression days.

This is allegedly made from 100 year old Barn wood. It has to square nails embedded into it. We took it to the frame shop to get some new glass, and begged them to save the frame if they could. The wood is fairly brittle in some places, but it was the original frame from 1975. Luckily they were able to save it. I like the look of repurposed barn wood

I like the table and the picture frame. I have a couple of picture frames I made about 35 yrs. ago from a barn on my property. The barn was about 40 to 50 yrs. old and falling down. The frames have held up pretty well.

Nice find Bill. I wish I had some old barn wood for the project I'm currently working on.

Looks good! I've got a pretty good supply of barn wood from some old barns I tore down. Saving it for my man cave.

I did our hall bathroom with wood that came from a house that was built in the 1800's. Pulled the old square nails out of it and ran it through the planer.
