Best beer I’ve had

The post on Trappist beer took my thoughts to an abbey near Regensburg Germany. We were on a Danube River Cruise, and they took us to this old abbey (circa 610). The monks there started brewing beer in 1050, and let me tell ya...they got it right. Weltenburg Abbey was the place, and we had their dark beer and pretzels. I never had better beer in my life. If you ever get the chance...go there and have one for me.

Cold free beer. I don't get it often but when I do. I forgot where I was going with this. Probably the cheap beer I have to buy has messed me up.

The OP sounds great but unfortunately not going to be accessible for me.

Locally I think Community Mosaic IPA is hard to beat.

Daily drinker is Michelob Lager.

Too many to count, I don't have sophisticated taste buds like some of you, I have even had Lone Star light that I enjoyed. BBK in Germany started me off at 19 though (circa 1973)

Best beer I EVER had was Sierra Blanca Brewing Co, “De La Vega’s” Pecan Beer.

Very seasonal, very hard to get. I cleaned out my cousins fridge when we went up a few summers ago. This was before I k ew the difficulty in finding it anywhere BUT in New Mexico

I had the Best beer ever getting towed back to the dock after breaking down today. It was a natty, but that doesn't matter.

Best beer is always after a hard days work on a hot day.

I even remember the first time I had an ice cold beer after working all day. I was 17-18 years old and me and a few buddies were hired by this guy to go over to San Saba and help clean up a bunch of storm damage. We worked our asses off for a few days cleaning up debris and damaged houses.


Last day he bought all of us minors some ice cold light beer that I can't even remember the brand. Sat around and threw a few back. I think that was the first time I really thought "damn I love beer"...

Only hunted in Africa once, 2003. I shot two 50 inch bull Kudu in one day. I celebrated with Castle Beer, made in South Africa. Pretty good cold beer.
