Chris Hansen, former host of To Catch a Predator, has been arrested.

Hanson was arrested in Stamford, Connecticut on Monday and charged with issuing a bad check, the Stamford Police Department confirmed to PEOPLE.

In the summer of 2017, police said Hansen ordered several promotional items including t-shirts, mugs and decals from a local company for upcoming marketing events.

According to police, Hansen was given a bill totaling just under $13,000 and agreed to pay for the items in full before they were delivered, but the check he issued nearly three months after receiving an invoice bounced.

When the time comes to having to sell t shirts, mugs and decalls about yourself to make a living, you basically have hit rock bottom...

My niece got picked up for kiting checks many years ago. 'Didn't find out about it until just recently, going through old files our company/family attorney needed to pitch. It's a crime people try to pass off as not really a crime.

Maybe he could cut a deal to where he would put in a good word for Wetteland if Wetteland would cover his checks...
