Cleaning a skull by putting in creek or river? - 11/21/19 03:00 PM

I read a post a few weeks ago about a guy that lives near the coast cleaning a hog skull out by tying a rope to it and throwing it in the river off his pier. He claimed after 2-3 weeks it was just about picked clean by minnows/crabs. Has anyone else tried this? My parents live down by the coast and i'm sure they wouldn't mind tying up some minnow bait around their pier.

Doesn't sound much different than using a fire ant bed.

Power washer is faster, but messier.

i use a 5 gallon bucket with a good snap on lid. put in skull, fill with water and wait. During the summer months i change water weekly and when its colder it may soak a month before changing. The only downside i could see to doing it in a lake or river/stream is when the teeth loosen and fall out, they'd be kinda hard to find.
