This was our throw together team from last year - don't remember team name - Tlew shooters or something close

members :

Tyler (aka Tlew )

James(not sure if he is a forum member)

Steve (aka hetman)

Tom (aka Capt Hook) ex A10 driver/shooter in Ragland

The Team: Right to left - James /Steve/Tyler/Tom

hetman trying to hit a bird.

[Linked Image]

Hetman making excuses - Really, I did have this much lead, that crosser was a fast bird.

[Linked Image]

Tom (capt hook) making us look bad with his 1950 Belgium Browning. He had just gotten out of surgery for a appendicitis emergency the past week & had to lend him a weight belt to hold the stiches together. talk about a trooper!

[Linked Image]

Tom still wailing away with his 10lb A5-Looks like he has good form/cheek weld and follow thru- Tom has had it since he was a kid - too many moving parts for me Needs to be put on a plack hanging up on the wall - and upgraded - But that won't happen LOL

This sure looks like a lot of darned fun for a really good cause. I haven't used a shotgun on a moving target in decades ... for a reason ... laugh

Well I have my Dad's Belguim Browning and that sucker kicks way to much to shoot clays! I remember about 40+ years go we were hunting greenheads in the timber. I came over to him and he was leaned ukp against tree and said had to quit shooting think if broke shoulder or collar bone. It's a safe queen with me now mostly with the original lay-away receipt attached.

I shot a Remington model 11 last Saturday and woke up to a green and blue shoulder next morning. Its still a little blue.

Mine shoots better with high velocity so that's what I shoot. Probably need to figure out the friction ring. I purchased off a member maybe ten years ago, think it was built in the late teens. I like the heft and the humpback, just feels right.

I haven’t decided yet what I’m bringing…..

The birdshot load for the cannon isn’t the issue. The inconsistent burn time of the fuses and swinging it tracking the clay is what’s problematic….. roflmao

Re: New Hope 8th Annual Clay Shoot - April 15th - 04/16/23 06:24 PM

I wanna publically say BIL whooped my tail, earning $60 more for Dave’s event. I shot a 71 with my grandfather’s 1100 and thought I did pretty good. That overgrown knucklehead comes at me with an 86.

All good fun had with great people.

The guy that spoke on behalf of combat veterans added a whole other layer to the level of why I love this event. Dave and his wife are doing God’s work on behalf of SO many. . . . each and every day.

Bless y’all’s hearts Mr. Kershen. Keep up the great work.

I was able to make it this year for the first time. The New Hope Equine Assisted Therapy program as well as everyone there supporting the cause left such an inspiring and positive impression on me. There were many there at the event and I cannot wait to meet more of you. Here's to the next year's event, and it was an honor being a part of what I feel is a time-honored tradition in supporting all that New Hope does. See yall around!
