Fossil Point Gun Range

Anybody familiar with the place? I’m considering it.

Not heard of it. Where is it?

NE of Decatur about 12- 13 miles or about 8-9 miles past Decatur livestock market.

Great place, great people. Excellent terrain for sporting clays, skeet & trap fields. Pistol and rifle range out to 200 yds. Longrange out to 800 yds.

How’s the staff?

Shotgun side is great, can't speak for rifle/pistol, but I would assume very good based on everything they do.

Went to high school with the guy that owns it. Not sure if he has a partner in it or not but I have heard good things about it. I need to get out there sometime and check it out myself.

I'm a big fan and do my sporting clay fundraiser out there every spring. All around good folks.

That would be David. He and his wife Maryam are the owners of the 500 acre ranch. Met them yesterday, very nice folks.

Their shotgun range is quite impressive.

Fossil Pointe has several sporting clays courses. I think it's the green course (the one on the creek as you come in) has lots of trees. The trees make it nice even during the summer heat. Nice facilities and good people as well.

Yep. I’d love a deer stand in the middle of that course.
