Hickory Smoked, Mesquite Honey Glazed Turkey Breast

Hickory Smoked, Mesquite Honey Glazed Turkey Breast - 05/22/22 01:01 AM

Today was the first time we got above 50 degrees, and had no wind. Could stay outside and work in the yard, and keep an eye on the grill.

Had bought a 4# turkey breast the other day and didn't want to waste it in the oven. Got the smoker box full of hickory soaked chips, and fired up the gas grill. Nice flavor and then basted with Chubacabra chicken rub, butter, and mesquite honey. Looked really good at one hour, and finished in 2 hours at 240 degrees. I can keep the temperature steady with the one burner on under the chips, and the other 3 either on low or OFF.

Dinner was really nice and went down easy. Fried squash and Idaho spuds topped it off.
