Quick Propane Tank Question - 01/31/22 02:17 AM
I’ve got a black stone that we use frequently, but I’m always paranoid my propane tank is on the verge of being empty. Anybody have a reliable gauge accessory that will give me a relatively accurate fuel level?

I don't have a good gauge, but it's worth buying an extra tank to alleviate that stress

Yep, extra tank takes care of the worries while using it to cook a meal. Change out in minutes. As for gages, Blue Rhino makes a good one that screws on the tank valve for $20, and the cheap magnetic ones are only $10. Can find both at propane dealers or trailer parts stores.

Weight is the only real gauge for small tanks.

Ive got an arm that is well calibrated. I also have 6 tanks so we’re never worried about running out.

This. Weight is the only way to tell which doesn't change with temperature. That's why they put it on a scale when you get them refilled.
