What are some of yalls favorite sides? My wife doesnt cook much, but one thing she makes that I like a lot is noodle salad. Its as simple as can be a 16 oz pack of spiral noodles, a tomatoe and cucumber diced and a bottle of italian dressing. I can eat my weight in the stuff.
Always looking other good sides to go with bbq etc. other than potato salad, beans, and slaw.
Just about any vegetable roasted is great.
Sautéed cabbage with onions and bacon.
The classic tomato, cucumber, onion, and avocado salad.

OOOPS! Can't read over my coffee cup. German-style mustard potato salad takes it to a whole new level. Tomatoes, cucumbers, onion and mozzarella with red wine vinegar. !!

Grilled asparagus or grilled romaine, then finish the salad as either a wedge type (blue cheese, bacon) or like a Caesar.
If you want to take the potato salad up a notch, he's a tip from a true coon a$$. Use red potatoes, and boil them in crawfish boil seasoning....I like Swamp Fire, then make your potato salad with them.

Or low and slow sauteed cabbage in butter
Yep, pickle juice as well.

Growing up my favorite sides were German Sweet Rice and Yellow Dent Field Corn on the cob with homemade butter and salt. I still like those today but will add in sautéed onions, peppers and mushrooms over a grilled steak or mixed into a grilled hamburger patty along with just about any grilled vegetable with olive oil/spices on it.

Seven of my favorite sides off the top of my head are:
1) cucumber salad
2) smothered potatoes w/homemade smoked deer sausage (or tasso, or ham hocks)
3) corn maque choux
4) dirty rice
5) homemade slaw with Blue Plate Mayo, has to have vinegar/black pepper/celery seed
6) scratch cornbread cooked with bacon grease
7) anything okra (especially fried with Blue Bag Louisiana, or okra & tomatoes).
