Whoever invented Blue Cheese

Should get throat punched. My God it's nasty. I'm not a very picky eater, there aren't many things that I won't eat. After all these years I just tried blue cheese again - on a salad, thinking that maybe my taste buds have changed.

That's a BIG negative. Mercy....

Blue cheese over a steak is amazing.

Love blue cheese in any form, roguefort and Gorgonzola especially. Eat it in slices or soft crumbles on crackers, in baked potatoes or over steaks in sauces. Yummy!!

I’m with skinner......nasty. If you could wrap it in bacon, maybe, but you could prob wrap a dog turd in bacon and make it edible.

I enjoyed eating expensive aged Durian fruit in Singapore. It smells so bad the government passed a law banning the transport of Durian fruit on any public transport system, you have to call a cab/Uber or risk being Ninja attacked by the Sing Po Po's. You go to the market when Durian is in, and you smell that in half of the store. It smells awful, but after cooking/grilling for some neighbors over there and drinking I tried it. Then I wanted some more. It's freaking delicious.

Blue Cheese, no.

Im not a huge fan of blue cheese on everything. The last 2 times I ate it was off of a salad my wife ordered. She wouldnt touch the stuff so one time i put it on my burger and damn it was good and the other I ate it over a steak and it was just as good then. For me it goes well with some things and not others and not by itself.

Yeah taking plug of blue cheese as you pass the fridge is a little rough on the pallet.

It's like anything else, you get what you pay for. Buy the cheap [censored] and it tastes nasty. Buy the good stuff and it's completely different. Commercial grade, bagged blue cheese crumbles, the stuff usually served on salads is garbage. Try a good Stilton or Calabrese and it's a different ballgame.

I like it occasionally. My wife's not a big drinker, but we go to a couple of restaurants just for their hand-stuffed bleu cheese olives, so she can have them in her Vodka martini.
Yep, she's "high maintenance", but I love her dearly.

Good bleu cheese is a party in your mouth. So many unique flavors and aromas (of course, Sweet Tooth hates it, and says it reminds her of my stinky feet in sneakers!)! Just got off the road after 450 mile drive, and snacks and a small malt Scotch sounded wonderful here in the campground. Triscuits, extra-sharp smoked cheddar, and slab of bleu cheese. Warm for 10-15 seconds to soften!




I really prefer to buy chunk cheese, and crumble it fresh as I need to. Packaged crumbles tend to spoil quickly and lose flavor and aroma. If you like it as dressing or dip, i reccommend the refrigerated Litehouse, rather than an off-the-shelf one full of salt and preservatives!!

I don't like olives, I especially don't like black olives, but I'll eat them without turning green. Can't say that about blue cheese.

I love me some Blue Cheese. Wing Stop is our preferred wing place and we always get a pint size cup (pound) of their blue cheese dressing, and IMO it is the best. One time I found a chunk of Blue Cheese in the dressing about an inch in diameter. The manager told me they make it fresh in house every day and every day they sell about 5 GALLONS of it.

I love the negativity on this thread. It just leaves more yummy blue cheese for those of us who appreciate the finer things in life.
