Baked beans

Baked beans - 05/05/21 09:31 PM

Take a peek into my newly cleaned oven. I cheated. I started with a can of Bush beans and added brown sugar, catsup, cayenne, belsamic vinegar, and minced onions. Do you ever? What do you add?

Those look like the baked beans my mother made Bill. I used to put bacon on top of mine to, but by the time the bacon was done the beans were dry sometimes.. I started frying the bacon and chopping it up, then adding it to the beans. Then I sauté the onions and jalapenos and add them. It cuts the cooking time in half.

Start with 2 cans van camps pork and beans
Add:
Sauteed chopped onions
Sauteed chopped jalapeno(De-seeded)
1-lb bacon(cooked and chopped)
ketchup
Mustard
Worchester sauce
Brown sugar
Garlic powder(if you really like garlic use fresh chopped and sauteed)

Bake in 350 degree oven for about 45 minutes.

Enjoy!!

TPACK, mine are similar to yours but some different ingredients. Only my daughter and I will eat them and she doesn't line onions much. If it is just me then the saute'd onions go in along with some Head Country BBW sauce.

Start with 1 can van camps pork and beans, liquid drained.
Add:
Chopped pickles jalapenos
4 slices of bacon(cooked and chopped)
Mustard
Brown sugar
Ribbon Cane Syrup
I prefer baked in the oven like you, but in a hurry they go in the microwave for 4 minutes, stir and back in for an additional 3 minutes.

Man don't tell my 6 yr old baby girl that!! Bush's baked beans are her #1 favorite thing to eat. I mean she wants to eat a can 3-5 times a day, seriously. Nothing else, just baked beans LOL. I have to stock up on them all the time. I like them too when in the mood, but not that much.

My mom and family women do the spice'd up baked in a casserole dish bacon on top of pork n beans. They are alright but I'll take a good bowl of pintos instead any day.

My kids are easy, they like the Bush beans straight out of can just heated up. Makes things easy - which girls are not prone to do on a regular basis so I just roll with it.

I have ti get a yearly check- up to get my prescriptions. The doctor told my to add red beans to my diet ob. start taking Vitamin E. These were easy and the cayenne left a nice little sting on the tip of my tongue.

You have to be careful with that cayenne pepper or it will sting you more than once.

Any single MLB player will also beg to differ, especially any single one who played during the steroid era.
