Nope if it's not a Cook's ham I will not eat it!
I have literally sold thousands of Cooks hams and never thought they were exceptional....... God hams, but not exceptional. I bought a Kroger spiral ham and fixed for Thanksgiving and it was really good. Both hams are cured different for sure. The best deal on a Cooks would be a 1/2 ham(no centers removed) and not a butt or shank portion.
TPACK I have to disagree. I started my tradition about 12 years ago with a Cook's Whole Ham and they have been a winner every time! I keep it simple place in big roaster fat side up on a little rack, pour half of 12 oz DP in pan. seal tightly with foil and cook at 325 for 25 minutes a lb. About 45 minutes before cook time is up I uncover it and slather my plum jelly, brown sugar, coarse mustard glaze on good and thick and finish in oven uncovered for 45 minutes, SLAP YO MAMMA good every time
