True Lime powder

True Lime powder - 09/01/20 05:56 PM

Made a Gin & Tonic last night to enjoy, while on the Forum. Seeing the "Monday" thread got me thinking, and I don't think I ever posted anything on this. Have any of you used the True Lime, or True Lemon before?? I keep them both in the cupboard and find myself using them all the time. Adds a little kick to different dishes, without increasing the moisture. Makes fantastic lemon garlic butter for seafood!!!

Being up here in Idaho, our produce sucks and we don't always have the great fresh produce you guys do. Hard to keep those citrus fresh on the counter very long, and sometimes ya just run out at the wrong time. Just a PSA that this stuff is the real deal, and you should try it sometime.

Oh Geez, tuff crowd tonight!! Hahaha. OK then:

2 packets of True Lime
2 oz. tequila
1 oz. Triple Sec
1 1/2 cups crushed ice
1 tsp. sugar

Put all of the ingredients in blender, and make wonderfulness.
Coat the rim of two Margarita glasses with a salt + True Lime mixture.
Pour contents into the glasses (pretend you have company), and serve. Drink them both. smile

TRUE LIME Margarita Cake
For the cake:
1-3/4 cups granulated white sugar
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened
1/2 tsp. Baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
3 large eggs
3 packets of TRUE LIME, mixed in 1 TBL water
2-1/2 cups of all-purpose flour
1 cup of plain, or lime-flavored yogurt

For the glaze:
1/2 cup super fine granulated sugar
4 packets of TRUE LIME powder, mixed in 2 TBL water
1 TBL tequila, if desired
Whipped cream for garnish, if desired

Preheat oven to 350°F.
Grease and flour a bundt cake pan.
Combine sugar, butter, baking soda, and salt in a mixing bowl and beat until blended.
Add the eggs one at a time, beating well and scraping the bowl after each addition. Mix in the True Lime juice. Add the flour and yogurt alternately, beating well after each addition.
Spoon the batter into prepared pan. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool in the pan on a wire rack for 15 minutes.
Meanwhile, combine sugar and True Lime juice in a saucepan and mix well. Cook until the sugar dissolves, stirring frequently. Stir in the tequila, if using.
Invert the cake and flip right-side up. Drizzle with the glaze and let stand until the glaze has cooled.
After slicing, garnish with whipped cream and an extra sprinkle of True Lime.

**These are in the sugar section of all of our grocery stores
