Hot Tamale - 08/22/20 10:27 PM

A girl at work sells these tamales for her mother about 3-4 times per year. 12.00 dollars per dozen is a bargain and they are great. These are chicken tamales with chili , cheese and onions with Spanish rice and a really ripe avocado. Bon Appétit

Love them. Usually load up on then during the Christmas holidays. I get mine at BobsTaco stand in Rosenberg. They were featured on Dinners and Dives.. I once posted a video of the feature.

I actually bought 4 dozen last Christmas and this is the last of them. I vaccume sealed them and they kept very good.

I told my sister one time that I loved tamales, but the roughage from those wraps was just tearing me up! She looked at me like I had hit her with a stupid stick, until she realized I was joking. smile They are good.......

I have eaten my own weight by hundreds of times over, love tamales. A guy a couple of years ago brought some homemade to deer camp, tossed them on a smoker we had going to warm them up in the smoke ... New level of good with those!!!!

A guy I know that used to have a mobile BBQ truck, licensed and inspected regularly, raised a flag to me last year about buying tamales from non-licensed vendors that I had never thought about. He said you never know really what you are getting from the vendors, how clean their kitchen is, what kind of meat they used, temperature control, etc. I kinda shrugged my shoulders and said but they always so good and I haven't been sick yet.

Heck yeh. We make a bunch every Winter. Used to always be deer or deer & pork, but the last few years have just been making all pork (feral). I like to brown half a dozen in a skillet, then fry 3 eggs sunny side up to lay on top. Add a little fresh salsa, cup of coffee and get after it! cheers

Love tamales!

By far my favorite way to cook/eat them is on a grate over a fire with a few adult beverages or coffee in the morning. They get a nice smoked flavor and a lite toasting.... mmm

A plate of tamales smothered in chili is my favorite way to eat them. Our local supply comes from a neighbor lady, she can cook.
