I agree, the home made garlic/lemon/herb butter does the trick

They possess anti-cancer properties and boost the immune system due to their antioxidants and anti-inflammatory effects. An average snail is comprised of 80% water, 15% protein and 2.4% fat. They contain essential fatty acids, calcium, iron, selenium, magnesium and are a rich source of vitamins E, A, K and B12.

Like Sweetbread, I found them to be an overhyped over expensive dish that was less than impressive. Give me an good oyster any day.

Love em, but I'll be the first to admit they are just a vehicle for garlic butter.

Kind of like oysters, they taste like nothing till you put stuff on them.

I guess they are the only ones that taste like anything to me are smoked or fried. I don’t even come close to understanding people’s obsession with them.

Great eating! Many years ago would go to Vincent's just for the snails, garlic slaw, and steamed crab claws. Really miss it.
