Parmesan cheese

Parmesan cheese - 01/16/20 06:13 PM

I'm not good at math but I have enough spaghetti to last me five days and parmesan cheese for one day. Need to get a new supply. I generally get the grated Kraft cheese that comes in a box. My social security check got deposited today, so I'm thinking about going a little higher on the hog. What would you guys use to top this?

Authentic imported Parmigiano-Reggiano or bust! I get mine @ Costco for $10.99/lb.

We buy a big block of gourmet parm, cut it into small chunks, vacuum pack and freeze. When needed the chunk goes in the micro plane grater for fresh grated parm that doesn’t taste like cardboard.

X2 - I can't stand the taste of the pre-grated or bottled stuff. All the flavor is gone

Sauce looks good Bill! Whats your recipe?

My wife is the pasta sauce maker. She's actually got a pot of sauce going now.

Made my own for years. Tried this. It was great.

Whatever you do shred it fresh and it will taste light years better.

Packaged cheese that is shredded has that wood pulp carp in it to keep it from sticking together and clumping. Buy block cheese and shred it yourself. Much better.
