Baby Back Ribs - 11/14/19 07:45 PM

Okay gents, got some baby back ribs in a package deal I bought at the Commissary today. I haven’t cooked em without a smoker before, what are some good ways to cook em with an oven? Any tips tricks are welcome! Thank you.

Crock pot with a chopped onion and a bottle of Sweet Baby Rays. Low for about 8 hours then carefully transfer to cookie sheet, put in oven on broil for 10 minutes or so (watch closely so you don't burn em)

Oh dang sounds good, when I broil that’s when I turn the oven up high right?

That's when you turn the oven to the broil option and the top of the oven gets to 550 degrees.

up You just want to caramelize the BBQ sauce a bit. Ribs will be falling apart tender. Sometimes I dont even do the broil thing, just eat em.

In a cooking bag for 4 hours @ 425°.

Season them and cook them in an Instant Pot for 25 minutes. Take them out, put your best BBQ sauce on them and throw them in the oven until they are the way you like them. For us they were falling off the bone after 25 minutes in the oven. They are very, very good and only take about 50 minutes max.

Rub with yellow mustard
cover in favorite rub
Wrap in foil in oven @ 250 for 2 hours
Unwrap and 1 hour at 350 basting with bbq sauce every 10-15 minutes
this allows the sauce to caramelize and they will be tender and fall off the bone but will stay intact.
I've done this where i can slide the bone out and just have a slab of meat at the end

First, lemme say I only use a stick burner

But as far heat and time, here’s what I do

Keep in mind, it’s a 4 hour job. Forget that 1,2,3 stuff

Unwrapped and Hot for 1 hour at 375, a little bit of 400 won’t hurt
Wrap and pour apple juice on them, cook for 2 hours at 250
Unwrapped at 225 for 1 hour, again pour apple juice over them

Use the rub of your choice and I go a little heavy on crushed black pepper

Me either.

I wanna see bite marks in the meat

Falling apart is too done in my opinion

Oof, I’m a 50/50 type guy. I like fall off the bone and I like to see bite marks.

Crock pot ribs aren't my favorite but they are easy and a nice change every once in a while.

So I had to stack them when I put em in the slow cooker. The rack on top kinda dried out but the other two were good. Damn for my first time ever cooking Ribs it was good, to pat my own back...
