Anyone got an easy red bean and rice recipe

Looking for easy red bean/rice receipe. I will probably substitute the andouille sausage for something healthier.

I have one but its not easy. Pretty labor intensive. Good stuff though. Easy comes in a can.

I was afraid I may have to go canned route. Maybe I can jazz it up a bit.

get a bag of Camellia red beans and follow the directions on the back. you can't go wrong.

Im pretty sure Tony C's has a box red beans and rice, they have just about everything else in a box or jar.

Here’s my red beans recipe. It’s pretty simple & straightforward. Feel free to substitute meat of your choice. I cook my rice separately & combine the two when serving.

It does not come much easier than beans and rice, even from scratch. If you are just in a hurry this would work.

Saute a chopped onion in bacon grease or oil till it starts to turn pale. If you want go ahead and use some celery and bell pepper.

Add a pound of sliced smoked sausage or andouille and brown another 10 min or so

Add 2 cans of red beans, add 2 more cans of the same red beans puree'd in a blender

Add 3 cups or so chicken broth and bring to a boil.

Add cajun seasoning and red, black, or cayenne pepper to taste

Stir in 1 cup long grain rice and simmer 20-30 min

Trying this tonight...……...With smoked hang down.

Turned out great. Had it again for dinner today.

... my wife is not a huge fan of red beans and rice, so when she is out of town, this is the simplest solution for me ... or I swing by Popeye's and get a family size order
