So you all always have better deals on beef than we do up here but this one is great for anywhere I think.
T bones on sale at Safeway for $5.97/lb.
I have about $100 worth in the freezer for our hunting guests this fall.
These are going on the grill today. $26 and change for three nice 1 1/4 in. thick steaks

I miss Safeway.

Regular price on those is $13.99/lb.
Our Safeway was bought or sold when they had to divest some supermarkets, it runs as a Safeway but is managed differently. Old Safeway would not and could have T bones on sale the meat cutter told me, new management everyone seems to like.

Long time since I heard of someone shopping at a Safeway.
I worked at one in Marshall Tx in 1973 and 1974. Miss them.

That is a very good buy, I usually wait until they hit $4.99 lb before I splurge up

That's a good eye Bill. That muscle that is at the top of the Strip Steak(Gluteus Medius) makes it a porterhouse steak. After years of running a meat market, the porterhouse steaks were not the most popular cut on the loin. I prefer the first cut T-Bone after the porterhouse.
