Would I be invited if I brought a pint of oysters and dumped them in there toward the end , and would Cathy be invited if she brought her own Tabasco sauce?
Looking good. I stuffed myself on shrimp & grits today.

Bill, yes your invited anytime you get up to Denton, Tx.
Stove is nice, I was doing work with a company that manufactures those and it was a demo unit. I picked it up on the cheap, sat around for a few years until we remodel'd the kitchen - which I fought tooth and nail at the time - but it does work well, and I do like the kitchen now.
Never cooked grits til today if you don't count "instant grits". But the cheesy sausage grits thread got my mind working. I just made the grits, minus the sausage and then worked up the shrimp and sauce.
Pretty sure I am a good cook, not a great cook. There are truly great cooks out there, but the difference between good cooking and great cooking is as fine as a frogs hair. That is coming from a good cook, a great cook has a different opinion I am sure.
What I do know is wife called on the way home and said, "oh, so and so and maybe so and so and their kids are coming by for dinner "- and I had it covered.
Thanks to all you guys, this is prob my favorite section of the forum.

Didn't take a pic but had left over grits warmed up this morning with some skillet scrambled eggs on top and a health dose of Louisiana hot sauce. Good eating, I'm going to have to do grits more often. Topped it off with a couple homemade chocolate crepes my youngest made. Has to be the best 10yo cook around....
