Whole roasted chicken

Whole roasted chicken - 12/30/21 11:25 AM

The best quick dinners I can get. I make four meals from one chicken. I get mine from HEB but that is because I'm shopping there. Ever buy them? Where. All the same?

I buy them at Kroger, if we had HEB we would love to shop there

HEB roasted chickens are delicious, especially the lemon pepper....and only $7.

When in a hurry I'll shred one and slap on an HEB bakery fresh tortilla hot off the comal, add some hot fresh salsa, and pig out.

I love em.
Get them at Sam’s or HEB.
Eat them as is for a meal.
Also pick them and use in many dishes.
Soups,enchiladas,gumbo,spaghetti,casseroles,pizzas,and salads.

Hard to beat Costco but I don’t use them near enough. Think I will more now

Some day I want to do a side-by-side comparison between COSTCO, Sam’s Club, and HEB’s chickens. See which one is tastiest.

I use a rotisserie attachement on my grill and let 'em go low and slow. Season the inside and outside heavily and put a chunk or two of raw potato and onion in the cavity. Certainly, a lot more work than grabbing one at HEB, but my closest HEB is a good hour's drive away. I do grab one of theirs every time I visit the store. Love 'em.

I was told it costs about 50 cents an hour to use your oven so a few store bought- cooked birds are a good deal. It sometimes cost the same to cook it yourself.

With the price of raw chicken these days, it's cheaper to buy already roasted chickens. I have a George Forman rotisserie machine but haven't used it in over 10 years.

If your HEB has them, try the roasted turkey breast.
