Chicken tenders - 08/25/21 06:02 PM

I saw several brands of breaded and fried chicken tenders in the freezer frozen foods case. I was tempted. I could save me a trip. I have frozen the ones from KFC. Thoughts?

I prefer Canes if I’m going to eat them away from the house

Since you don’t fry at home I would avoid the frozen variety at any store.
Hard to make them taste as good as fresh outta the hot oil.

If I never eat another chicken tender that will be perfectly fine with me

yep, can't get them crispy by baking, even on convection they don't crisp up properly.

At least not on purpose.

To the best of my knowledge never had a frozen one, there are some good ones out there though.

Canes is good but those dummies do not have any gravy to dip them in and that is the only way I like to eat them.

You must be tired of eating those azzes and beaks from Mcdees?

I finally dipped my toe in the water and tried the HEB brand. I thawed just one and had it along with the KFC tender. I preferred the HEB tender.

Yep, had some yesterday. Usually stop by on the way home from the lease. Have never had a bad tender from them. And they give Vets and 1st responders a discount.

Golden Chick or Chicken Express...I usually have to get 3 extra rolls at those places. Not sure if I enjoy the chicken or rolls more??

I know this won’t make me popular, but I don’t like Canes. The best thing about that place is the bread and sweet tea. The chicken is just meh.

When it comes to chicken it’s best the way God intended it. Fried and on the bone.

Popeyes for me. I actually think Chicken Express is one step above dog food. Overpriced tiny tenders full of gristle.

Raising Canes for me, I love their dipping sauce.

Re: Chicken tenders - 10/01/21 02:24 PM

Canes chicken has zero flavor w/o the sauce and the breading falls off too easily.

Caprock Cafe in LBK (the spicy ones) with a cold beer are pretty darn hard to beat.
