Del Frisco’s in Plano - 07/18/21 03:54 PM
Not my favorite setting for a restaurant, maybe it was because we had a toddler with us, but the place lacked any kind of private dinning like the old DF’s on Beltline.
Anyways, the food was exceptional as always. Started with the crab cake for the wife and spawn, I had a half order of oysters, both were delicious as expected and the not quite 2 year old shared in my oysters and liked them.
Wife ordered a steak trio, 3 petite 4 ounce fillets each with its own topping (blue cheese, peppercorn, garlic butter) and they were great.
I had the 16 ounce prime ribeye, cooked rare, and was very good.
Brussels sprouts and lobster mac for the sides, both were great and the spawn ate everything.
Desert was a chocolate mousse, simply amazing.
The signature Old Fashioned with Makers 46 is the best I’ve ever had. The house Cabernet was good and dry but full of flavor.
They just need a better setting for the restaurant, maybe it caters to the people in the area, I don’t know.

I didn't know they had that one, I have only been to the FT Worth location, and it always is on point. Those crab cakes are legit.

Off the tollway, yeah the ambience there is mediocre. Food is good.

The wife and I used to go to the one on Spring Valley Rd at the N. Dallas, we enjoyed the atmosphere there.
The only restaurants atmosphere that I really did not like was III Forks when it was on the N. Dallas PKWY in Plano.

We sure like Papa Brothers Steak House.
We may try it again. It was such a bad experience and meal that cost $200 I’m not so sure SaltGrass wouldn’t be better

That's exactly how I felt about my only visit to Del Frisco's, it was the Fort Worth location and luckily I had a $250 gift card so it didn't cost me much out of pocket, but it was so bad I've never been back to Del Friscos. My now wife ordered the exact same steak trio and none of them were very good. The best thing we had was the bacon appetizer.

It’s funny about Saltgrass, my wife loves it and she’s eaten a steak at every fine steakhouse in DFW. My old boss referred to Saltgrass as the “ Burger King” of steak houses

Always comical when salt grass is brought into a nice steak conversation, it’s makes an expensive turd and that’s about it

I’ve taken my wife to several high end steakhouses and she still likes Salt Grass. The salads at Salt Grass are always good and the only steak I eat their is the Filet. Their other cuts/steaks have way too much gristle.

We go to Saltgrass occasionally, when I don’t feel like cooking my own steak on the back porch or dropping a couple hunddys at Myrons in New Braunfels.

We went to Salt Grass Saturday for a birthday dinner, I got the Chicken Laredo, it was good. All the steaks ordered were grossly over cooked.

We went to this location last month for our anniversary and enjoyed the food. Service was great too. While I always liked the ambiance at the old Spring Valley location, this one at Legacy West is very nice too, just a lot more modern.
