Rockfish - 12/14/20 12:41 PM

Well Saturday night the wife did not feel like getting the oven dirty again grin so she surprised me with Rockfish.
We have eaten there once before quite a while back and did not care for it then and after Saturday nights dinner do not care for it now!

She ordered me the Bourbon Street Trio which is as they say "A trio of classic Louisiana favorites! Crawfish Étouffée, Shrimp ‘n Grits, and blackened U.S. farmed Catfish topped with our homemade Pontchartrain sauce on red beans and rice". She also added a cup of Gumbo to the mix.

Catfish was Meh, Crawfish Etoufee No Bueno, Red Beans and rice okay good, Shrimp N Grits okay good and the Gumbo sucked.

I put on the Happy Face and told her it was good, now waiting for the right moment to tell her to Never order from there again hammer

I used to go to the original when it was independently owned and it was really good. When Brinker bought it I knew they would start managing the margins and the food quality would go down. It happened and from your experience it doesn't sound like things have changed. Half Shells in Legacy Square is similar to what Rockfish used to be.

I may have been a little hard on the Rock. Had the remainder of the Red Beans and Rice yesterday and they were very good.

I must admit before I had my meal I had a couple or maybe 3 or so drinks before the meal, when she brought the Rockfish bag in the little naysayers between the ears had cast a doubt over the quality of the food.

Having blabbed all of that I bet the Shrimp Grits were good too. Now the Blackened Catfish, Crawfish Etoufee and Gumbo make no mistake they were No Bueno whether you are buzzed or sober!
