Krause's, great German food, Black's in New Braunfels didn't impress me, Black's in Lockhart was much better.

Los Gallos Taco house makes good tacos and they are huge. A good place to soak up the alcohol from the night before with the size of those darn things.

I have to admit, Gristmill on that little creek or river it sits next to is pretty nice and the food is pretty good too. Chicken fried steak is pretty highly regarded

We are there about a month ago and it was great. Portions are huge.

Glad you liked Herberts! The original location in San Marcos is still only open for take out.

According to my FIL they had to shut down Gristmill for deep cleaning. Some of their waitstaff came down with covid.

The Gruene River Grill is an excellent choice. I ate there twice a couple weeks ago.
