Driving to Arkansas for work in the next few weeks. What’s a good place to stop for dinner?

Might check it out if Iget a really late start on the drive. If I get out of the office early on Monday, Twisted Fork in Texarkana looks pretty promising.

Every Jalapeño Tree I’ve tried has been terrible.

Might want to give "Dixie Diner" at the Nash exit just west of Texarkana a try. Always been good food but I am not very picky about chicken fried steak.
Golden Corral at the Richmond Rd exit is quick & LOTS of choices.

These are some of our favorites...
Mt. Pleasant--Two Senioritas, Randy's Burger, Mt Pleasant Burger And Fries, (both great burger places), Mexico Restaurant (great authentic tacos), Outlaws BBQ, Nardello's (great pizza).
Texarkana--Naamans BBQ (great bbq), Dixie Diner (homestyle cooking), The One (Buffet), Fiesta House (new Mexico style Mexican food), and Tacos Mi Pueblo

5118 Summerhill Rd. (Behind Applebees). It's easy to get to, right beside interstate.

We stopped in Texarkana at Twisted Fork on the way out. It was pretty good - had a nice selection of appetizers, pizza, burgers, and entrees.
Went to Naaman’s BBQ on the way home - definitely a good stop. Thx for the suggestion!

Naaman's BBQ in Texarkana is good.
It's hands down the best BBQ I've ever eaten.

I don't remember how far off the Interstate it is, but I've eaten at Big Smith's BBQ and Catfish in Sulfur Springs and can heartily recommend it. Earl

The only thing worth eating at jap tree is beef fajitas, Med rare. That seasoned butter they have is good. Other than that, I agree with you. Plus the dadgum chips are always stale.
