Speaking of road trips! The wife and I are headed to Fredercksburg tomorrow. Our route will take us through Hico, Hamilton, Goldthwait, San Saba, and Llano. Any suggestions on roadside stops? Good BBQ? Can't miss burgers? Neat Curios? Anything that might be of interest.

I like Cooper's in Llano and the BBQ place in Cherokee. The Cherokee place is only open a few days a week though.

I don't have any recommendations for food but if you're taking 16 between Llano and Fredericksburg you might like the Willow City Loop. It's too late for bluebonnets but it's a pretty drive at any time of the year.
Catfish place on the west end of town is good.

I'm late to this thread ... for Brisket, try Inman's in Llano, much better than Cooper's IMO ... Cooper's has turned into a yuppy weekend biker hangout for middle aged want to be's ...
