Food in Georgetown

Food in Georgetown - 12/15/17 03:46 AM

I had no idea that you could get such good food there. Wife and camped at Jim Hogg Park and went to town for a few meals. Ate at Gumbo’s, and I had some Red Beans and Rice and some Chicken and Jalapeño Sausage Gumbo. Man...I lived in New Orleans for years, and this gumbo and red beans were THAT good. Next day we went to a place called Wildfire. Absolutely delicious seared And blackened Tuna.

And...it wasn’t that expensive. Food like that in Houston would have been twice the price.

For breakfast, check out El Charrito. Best breakfast tacos in this great state. The Monument Café has great breakfast too, but its more of a good home cookin meal.

Dos Salsas in Georgetown is also really good. Their sister place in leander/cedar park isn't as good IMO.

The wife and I went to Gumbo’s one time and really enjoyed it as well.

Man ZK you arnt lying about that Dos Salsas, we like the one in Georgetown but that one in Cedar Park is bad.

how long will you be hanging out at Jim Hogg park? you hit a couple of the pretty good places already. Hardtails for a great Burger, or Andice General Store not too far on out Williams drive.

PMK, we are long gone from Georgetown, but we plan to go back again. I really was surprised that so many good restaurants were there. I suppose the old retired folk, and there’s plenty of them, eat out a lot.

That logic ought to work on Asheville, NC, but the food there was awful. Even worse, it was expensive. Food in Georgetown, by comparison, was very affordable.

If you were at Jim Hogg Park you were about a mile from my house. We have really good quality restaurants here, just low quantity. That's all about to change though, this place is growing like crazy.

Next time you're on the square, you have to stop by Mesquite Creek Outfitters for a beer and talk to the owners (Cody & Brad). You'll have a great time.
