5 Guy's Burgers

5 Guy's Burgers - 11/05/15 03:30 AM

Sad to say I wasted dang near $30 on me and my helper for lunch there the other day. Burger was average, cajun fries not too bad though. But for the amount of food and the quality of it $14+ per person is highway robbery. I will never waste my money on that place again. I only eat one or two beef burgers a month so I like to enjoy them. This was a waste of a high fat intake meal. barf

Yep, for that much you can find a lot better meal. I tried the new one here in Tyler ONCE!!! Lot better burgers out there for less.

Chubby's, Kincaid's, even Whataburger for good burgers.

The single patty is too small and the double is too much. A regular order of fries could feed an army. But you are right... way too high.

Burger, fries and drink cost me 11.00 at 5 guys. Ridiculous! Never again!

First time I nearly chipped a tooth on a chunk of bone in the meat. Fries are good but that's where it ends. Much better burgers available for even or less money.

Would that be the place where they used to take your order by writing on the sack?

We have burger joint on every corner in Frisco. Mooyahs used to be cheap price, Not anymore and they have greasy burgers, I did the 5 guys one time

I can go to In and Out and get a fresh hot burger double cheeseburger with crisp lettuce for less than $4.

The more I eat In and Out the more I like them.....

5 guys is overpriced and overhyped, I can't wait for our Red Robin to open up.

I used to work near a Red Robin. They must have a zillion burger options. Good burger.

My favorite burger is at Beck's Prime. Seriously good burger. Good fries too.

Sadly, $11 is about the going rate for burgers now, even at fast food joints. Went to Whataburger the other day and got a double meat bacon cheeseburger meal with jalapeņos, large fries, and a large drink. That little meal set me back over $11.

Agree with most above though. The Cajun fries are all about all that Five Guys has going for them.

You can go to a nice restaurant get a sit down lunch for about $8 to $10, I guess we are paying more for fast food at lunch time.

yeah me too. I ordered the bacon cheeseburger, Fries, and a Coke (1st time there). They input Double burger, fries enough to feed Romania, and a Coke. I think it came to 18 dollars.

Tried them a few times when they first came to NTX, yummy, ohh so good, etc. Last couple times (in past six months) not so much, rather go to Whataburger. I think we just got caught up in the hype or they chain altered something. Never fell for that inandout hogwash though, thankfully!

Kept hearing about the 5 Guys joint and we have one near us in Lewisville - so we tried them. The music was VERY loud and the food was greasy, even for me. Not been back since.

They used to charge 5 dollars a burger and 1.50 extra for fries, the burgers were dang good too!

However, now they upped their prices and the quality went down hill...

PTerrys is probably the best deal in Austin. Hopdoddies has the best burgers. I like the burgers at Crown and Anchor a lot.

There are a lot of places in Austin where you can get a fancy burger for $14-$22. I kid you not.

I'm working down in Austin this week. Had a bacon cheeseburger at Crown & Anchor for lunch. Good as it always is. Same guy owns that and Cool Beans and Lucky Lou's in Denton.

We gave them a try a few months ago. The food wasn't bad, but for what you pay for it I was underwhelmed, will not be a returning customer.

The one in Arlington is pretty good, but there are better options.

5 guys is nothing special. Hear a lot about In & Out. how are they? We also have a steak n shake but I have not tried it either. How are they?

Re: 5 Guy's Burgers - 11/27/15 04:03 AM

Well I guess I will step out there and tell you I love Five Guys. I have never had a bad experience at any of them. You really can't compare Whataburger or In & Out because they are fast food where Five Guys is fast casual. Places like Mooyah, Five Guys, and Becks Prime are comparable fast casual chain burger restaurants.
