Dropping like flies in Dallas area as well....Sad thing is Subway sucks..Im in the food business...I bought a 12 inch roast beef sub last week and took it to work...pulled off all the trimmings and weighed just the meat...2.8 oz on a 12 inch....HORRIBLE...

Time to check out Jimmy Johns. I haven't yet, but the original Jimmy John is a huge big game hunter.

(So is the Jack Link jerky founder)

I trace the demise directly to this series of commercials.

They declared bankruptcy recently I don't know how much, if any, of the company will survive.

I liked Quiznos, it sure seemed like it took a long to me for it to run through the oven though. Not exactly conducive to "fast food". I like Jimmy Johns a lot and Potbelly. Subway is just awful, no wonder Jared lost all that weight if that's all he ever ate

My new favorite is Jersey Mikes. They make a pretty mean sandwich.

Cuz it sucks... and subway pretty much has that locked down.. I think I saw not to long ago they are the largest distributed chain company... but not as much revenue as McDonalds... something like that

Used to be one LBJ/Coit. Went in there twice and they always just looked at me like what the $^## you want. They would just say yes and look at you. Never seemed happy that I came through the door which was odd because there was a Subway 60 ft away. Their service and attitude killed them

Man, I ain't a fan of Jimmy John's either. I can't find one where food is good, employees give a crap, or tables are clean.

Thats in several locations in several states. If I were Drew Breeze, I'd not associate myself with that franchise.

My kids always wanted to eat there. Every time I took them I never cared for it.

Not a huge fan of Quiznos. Jimmy John's and Pot Belly are better in my opinion, but I rarely eat a sandwich anywhere but Schlotzky's. They still make the best toasted sandwiches IMHO.

Firehouse is better than Q ever was IMO. JJ have only done delivery but they are ok.

Quiznos I tried a couple times when there was one close to work but IMO subway is better so that does not say much for them.

I never had a good sandwich at Quiznos. And their prices were outrageous. Firehouse isn't a bad sandwich but their prices are high and they have them hidden while they make them. I just don't like the place. I dunno what subway you eat at but the ones I frequent make a good sandwich for me. Sad thing is I order a veggie most of the time. frown

We would rather have Subways, rarely do we stop at any of the other sandwich places. Hamburgers are usually at various local joints.

Quiznos is better than Subway, havent ate at either in probably three years.
Jimmy Johns is good stuff!

Re: How come Quiznos can't survive in Texas - 06/06/14 07:45 PM

Ive just accepted that if your in a fast food place don't expect a spik and span restaurant or restroom, gourmet food, or competent employees. Once you get your expectations in line with what is out there you will be much happier.

I don't go to subway for a life altering meal. I go there because its cheap fast and there is one everywhere when im in the field for work. It aint lobster and prime steak don't expect it to be.

Jimmy Johns is decent for a cold sammich. I'd rather have a hot sammich. Wish they would run the roast beef through a toaster or something.

Re: How come Quiznos can't survive in Texas - 06/26/14 07:07 PM

Jersey Mikes is great. There is one over here by my office that we've been going to several years. Pretty sure the owner works the production line along with two other guys who have been there for several years. Clean, courteous, quick, and tasty.

Re: How come Quiznos can't survive in Texas - 06/26/14 07:33 PM

I'll stick with Galligaskins. best sub in fort worth.

Re: How come Quiznos can't survive in Texas - 06/26/14 11:23 PM

Jersey Mikes is the best chain out right now for sandwich. Chips choices suck, fountain drinks aren't mixed right
Firehouse is meh and bland but good CS, They have so much hot sauce so you can taste something
JJ is better than Firehouse, quick but its just a bunch of lettuce and they charge for japs or "jimmy peppers"
Subway is subway
Quiznos - meh
Schlotzkis - not consistant, good chips and drank

Re: How come Quiznos can't survive in Texas - 07/25/14 05:48 AM

Quiznos better then subway.
Subway just convenient when you are on the fast track on the road.
Quiznos would have survived if they had their stores inside gas stations.
Wich wich is pretty darn good

Quiznos has been in financial trouble for awhile. A big group of franchise owners were suing Quiznos after the board of directors voted to raise food prices on the independently owned stores to raise revenues. More recently, they are also being sued by a hedge fund that bailed them out. Sounds like bad corporate management all around. I just feel sorry for the folks that invested their money into a franchise only to have a bunch of corporate monkeys screw it up.
