Sad day, Good bye Jojo - 01/07/22 11:33 PM
With Grief I write this one. We said good bye to my best Friend Jojo last night. Jojo came to me by way of the Texas hunting forum over 12 years ago as a 1.5 year old Brittney full of energy and the friendliest dog I have ever known. Over the last couple years his health had been in decline, Gallbladder issues, Laryngeal paralysis and a wrist he injured that just did not want to heal. Christmas Eve night he was having more trouble breathing than usual so took him to the emergency vet and x-rays showed 3 large masses in his chest. Oxygen for a bit and shot of steroids and we came home.
He was doing pretty good and had a great day with him last Saturday. He loved to blood trail and the wife shot a deer behind the house that was a short blood trail (she watched it fall) but we let him out to do his work on this one and he did great even with his breathing issues trailing it up and was so proud of himself. He made a little "run" through the woods and out to the street through a neighbors yard ignoring me calling him back to the gate. He would do that and meet me at the front door anyway. From their yard he hit a mud hole in the ditch and lay down in the mud then a squirrel came by close enough so he chased it into another neighbors yard before returning to the house. In about 20 minutes he did 3 of his favorite things.
Jojo, I miss you buddy and always will. Thank you boy for seeing me through a lot,
