Momarsh Versavest thoughts?

Alright whos gotten the momarsh versa vest? I just recieved mine in the mail yesterday with high expectations, not sure if that is still my stance. This vest seems so dang stiff with all of the velcro.... Im sure itll loosen up over time but a little disappointed

I was definitely skeptical when I saw the add.

I have a huge pet peeve against dog vests that do not fit correctly.

In most cases they look stupid and do nothing but act as a big parachute to catch water and slow your dog down.

Over the last few years I have been cutting and using neoprene cement to tailor my dog's vests. They fit correctly and my dogs are 100% dry wherever the vest is touching.

No huge neck holes and no cutting out the front leg holes so big that they look ridiculous.

I hope that the versa-vest actually works as they claim. Keep us updated.

Until I get some good reviews I'll just keep tailor fitting my regular neoprene vests.

I bought the vest sight on seen due to the products they have and the vets behind the company. However, i dont know if im going to keep it, ive tried to adjust this vest for a few hours and cannot get it right, and the vest itself is so thick the dog can barely move around, has little flex... May try a different neoprene vest, i have yet to have one keep the dog dry even with trimming, but then again i didn't neoprene cement it.

Are the vests like a wet suit? If so, water skiing wet suits allow a layer of water between the neoprene and the body. The body warms the thin layer of water. Dry suits don’t allow water to enter, but are tight around ankles, wrists and neck areas to prevent water intrusion. And of course, to speed up the warming process in really cold water, you can always pee in the wet suit.

Yeah, trimming doesn't do much but make it look terrible.

Here is how I do it

Basically pinch the access material around the front leg holes and neck. Cut access material out and neoprene cement it back together.

are you trimming the neck down at all or just bringing it in together with the cement? this seems way more my style

Yes, you put the vest on the dog, pinch together the excess neck material and basically cut out a triangle piece and then cement it back together

What Brady said is what I do. Use a straight edge to cut the darts out and it will go back together smoothly. I also sew the seams with dental floss for added durability. Browning makes a vest that is the most adjustable for size I have put on a dog.

Not even close, almost like a rubber material, then the entire outside is Velcro so it makes it still. Another con was the chest protection is minimal almost like the rigem right.

No, my dog vests keep the dog's torso completely dry. They are neoprene like hunting waders.

I use a banded one for my dog. I literally took my dog into an alterations place. The lady thought i was nuts. She helped me fit it better and sewed it using her sewing machine. Fits the dog like a glove.
