Trainer in San Antonio

Trainer in San Antonio - 12/15/18 09:27 PM

Wife is wanting a nearly 1 year old chocolate lab that hasn't been trained and is destroying everything in the current owners house.
I'm considering it, IF, we can have him boarded for a month or so for basic obedience/kennel/house.
Then we can build off that foundation.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,

No problem, sorry I did t have time to really elaborate. I've seen Allison rum dogs at tests and been impressed with how she handles and interacts with her dogs.

Really liked her website so we've reached out to her, but just phone tag.
Is she historically too busy?

Or does anyone know of a trainer closer to San Antonio?

Best Retrievers in Paige, Texas. https://www.facebook.com/Bestretrievers/ or https://www.bestretrievers.com/

My YML Remington completed their advance gun dog training and I have Maggie in gun dog training.

They offer a 6 week obedience class.

Kanati Kennels in Brownwood Glenda did a great job with my girl Kate

Best Retrievers is really good.

I train with Glenda and Juli every once in a while, only reason I didn't mention them was because I didn't consider them close to San Antonio.

I think you'd be happy with either of the three mentioned.

BradyBuck,
Thanks for your input.
We were able to talk with Allison from Legend, and she referred us to Redmark Kennels.
So now we have several options.

Thank-you all for your replies.

Merry Christmas!

I'll second Best retrievers . My newest pup will be headed there in February and he'll be my third one to be trained by them. Nothing but good things to say about my experience with them or the results. Mark with Redmark kennels is also a very nice guy, have watched him train and run dogs several times.

Is B-Sue still training, she kept my GSP a year and fixed him from being gun shy. Her partner had some good looking prospects

I assume she is--got a notice about rattlesnake avoidance training there. She has slowed down a bit due to back issues

Just so you aren't surprised, if you go with Bonnie Sue, she will talk to you pretty rough, so don't get you drawers in a twist, the lady is good.

I was looking to get some help around Bastrop as well. Looks like most of those are Lab trainers.
