Have a couple dogs running field trials and starting to have a little success in the derby and quals.
Peace Full Sunrise "Rise" we struggled through the derby's with a couple of jam's just really couldn't put it altogether at one time. On more than one occasion we were just one bird away from placing. Had to switch trainers in the middle of her derby career due to him changing direction in his kennel. Went into the Quals and our luck didnt change right away. Placed 4th right before she came into heat and I brought her home to breed. Second guessed myself the entire time as she was starting to run really well. She whelped a litter and I sent her on the summer trip in June. Three weeks prior to running this summer and she gets injured in training, water entry log underneath the water and she basically tears off her pinky toe. Thankfully nothing was wrong structurally and they sewed it up. Two weeks to heal and one week to train. Three events in two weekends and three 2nd place finishes which makes her QA2. Super proud of the dog and trainer Chad Radt Lucky Seven Retrievers.
Also I have two derby dogs running, one yellow male Maize that turned one year old on August 11th. He placed third. Extremely talented and expecting big things from him in the next year. Also a black female that I bred who received a jam and was one bird away from finishing both derbies. Probably not a superstar but hopefully she can be miss consistent. Long story kind of short, lot of time effort and money spent the last couple if years and it is extremely satisfying to have a little success. Hopefully it's a new trend.
