English Pointer Pup - 09/21/12 04:18 AM

Picked up my first bird dog today, an English Pointer Pup and thought I'd share a pic or two. Can anyone recomend a trainer in North Dallas? She is months away from training but I want to start looking into schools now. Thanks much

you can start doing a few things now, when she is excited or eating, start making noise's, claping, bang pots and pans ect, start out low.

Well I finally got around to getting my Pup to Mike Burpo for some training. She has never been anywhere near a bird before but she "hunts" my back yard all the time. All she wants to do no matter the weather is run the fence line with her nose to the ground and let me know where the dadgum rabbits are coming thru. The video link below is her first point at a bird about 15 min after we got to his place. Mike said he was very impressed with her when we were there and has since called her "really bird crazy". I hope thats a good thing because I know she is having the time of her life doing what comes so naturally for her. I cant wait to get out in the field with her!

The only place I know of around DFW is poetry so I'm sure I'll start there. Anyone have other suggestions?

She looks real nice. Call when you are ready to introduce her to birds.

We cater to DIY bird dog trainers and keep homing pigeons available to rent. We also have two remote launchers available for rent with the pigeons.

Need a check cord we got it. Want to try our different E collars before you buy ewe have three different types.

Good to know about the collars, I've been doing some research but I far prefer to get out with a few to see what works best for me. I'm sure the fist weekend we have her back my son's will want to take her out so I'll be seeing you soon. Take care.
