Dog House Question - 10/25/11 05:25 PM

I'm building a dog house for my black lab and was curious what yall think are good interior dimensions for a 80-90lb lab.

Thanks for the help!

Make sure you and the dog won't fit in it...wives sometimes like to put us there!

Man, sometimes I'd rather sleep in there. So on second though, just buy a portable building that you can put a pet and a pot belly stove in...

Don't make it too big, that makes it hard for the house to retain enough heat in cold weather.

Here's a formula:

Depth = dog's length + 12"
Width = dog's length + 18"
Height = dog's height + 3" (low side), height + 9" (high side)

Here's a house I built my lab. It's made to fit a lab and a 15lb sheltie.
