Lenders for land buy

Lenders for land buy - 02/09/22 09:42 PM

Some years ago I was told the Fed Govt farm bureau, or some such agency had really good loan terms. Low fixed rates for 40 years. Anyone have any knowledge on such loan programs or any good lenders? Thanks.

We bought our place through Texas Bank and Trust headquartered in Longview. Paid it off early so don't have a long term opinion but they financed without any issues.

Call me and I can help you get plugged in... Depending on the county, there are several options.

I compared most of them and ended up going with Central Texas Farm Credit. It came down to them and Capital Farm Credit. I bought just northwest of Brady, TX - just over 113 acres right on the edge of the Edwards Plateau, with 150 foot elevation changes. It was part of a 600 acre parcel broken up for wind turbines and 20-100+ acre tracts. Power and internet available, water by well (but several performing wells in the area). Already ag and wildlife exempt, so I've got some time to get my wildlife plan together.

If you’re a veteran, look at the Texas Veteran Land Board

Anyone have an idea or willing to share what current terms are these days for land as far as down payment required, length of term, or general idea of interest rate?

Farmers business network

https://www.fbn.com/dashboard

30 yr fixed at 4.39%

No patronage rebates but lower rates.

So far so good in the process now of using and my friend just used them no issues. Simple.....only downfall they are more like 90-100 days to close
