Lease Hunt-3 to 4 hours from houston

I am trying to find a new lease. In the past years I have always hunted on family or family friends land. This year I got on a lease though a outfitter/middle name which has left a bad taste in my mouth. my contract on this lease ends in march. My current lease is a timber land lease. Which I was fine with. But I have had multiple lies told to me throughout the process. I am debating on should I directly lease through a timber company for next year or try to find something else. I have 3 guys who I hunt with from work, and am trying to keep it basically with just us if possible. What would yall recommend?
