Using leasehunter.com - 04/09/19 01:53 PM
I registered/free on this site but I can't find a "search" option. If I upgraded to a paid membership would I be able to search by county? Also can't post a "lease wanted" without paying. Is it worth it?
Is there a better website than leasehunter.com?
I found one lease to look at in mid-May when I will be in the area through this website but would like other alternatives.

Most of those sites aren’t worth the money. This is a good place and also there are several groups and pages on Facebook.

OK I won't pay.
Per advice on this forum I posted lease wanted on San Antonio Craigslist but only responses are from others looking for leases.

I have used Leasehunter.com through the years and it has been very helpful. I guess rather its worth it or not would always be relative and up to the individual but with the costs of leases and hunting I cant imagine 29.95 not being worth it. I have used other websites and none compare to it, IMO. I never used Craigslist until recently but found it to be surprisingly helpful. I also think that this forum is a great place as well. Keep in mind that rather its leasehunter or this forum or any other source for finding a lease that its just plain HARD to find a real good lease. The reasons are that there aren't many GOOD ones, the ones that are good don't have much turnover, when an opening opens up they may not have to advertise and if so they go fast. Im getting into advise that you didn't ask for but for anyone that's on a GOOD lease I would not moan and groan if its not PERFECT, just be glad you are on a good one and do what you can not to mess it up for you or others.
Short answer once again would be, IMO, leasehunter is the best out there and yes its worth it. Also, you should be able to search without paying so may have to play with it a little more or contact them to help walk you through.

I agree with Freerange, if you pay you can get the contact info for the lease.
If your gonna wait til mid May to look at a lease, it’ll be long gone (leased) by then.

Yes, but it's always hard to find. There is a link in the FAQ -

Good leases won’t last a day or even a week before they get leased. Wait until May to start looking if that is when you will be around.
As for the paying sites being worth it, I think they are but I was serious about finding a lease. It is a month to month charge so I’d pay for it then cancel when you find a place. I haven’t picked a lease up from a site but I’ve talked to multiple people based off leases I found there.

I have used leasehunter for years with good results - I have used it to find new hunters and it worked quit well - you have to check it several times a day since things come up and leave quickly at times
https://www2.tpwd.state.tx.us/huntwild/hunt/planning/hunt_lease/search.phpI believe Hunting leases have to be registered with Texas parks and wildlife-> link to searchable directory above.
