How much are grazing rights going for nowadays? I know the price could vary depending on the place just looking for a ballpark range? Throckmorton, Stephens and Young county?

You're right, too much variance depending on all sorts of factors to give an accurate answer.

I pay between $6 - $14 per acre in Young, a high quality pasture in same area $10 - $18, high quality planted winter pasture $3 - $6 per AU per month.
Rough native range land in Archer $4 - $8.

You'd need to have a very good idea of how many AU the acreage will support, and either have a good knowledgeable tenant or contractually limit head count to prevent range deterioration.

I don't have any grazing leases in Throckmorton or Stephens.

Here in Bandera I have never paid for a grazing lease. You get it so people can keep their AG Exemption.

We're getting around $8.00 in Throckmorton County but I do know other landowners are getting $10-$12.

I trade grazing on my 67 acres for hunting on 41 acres with my neighbor. It saves me a lot on taxes.

I leased my ranch here in Stephens county for 13 years before I moved here full time in 2009 and bought my own cows in 2011. My ranch is fairly rough and thick, it's a hunting ranch more so than a cattle ranch. Back then I was getting $6 an acre and he was planting a 40 acre wheat field for me at his cost that was only for deer till deer season was over, then he would turn his cows in on it.

I got rid of my cows and went with a Wildlife Exemption. Much less PITA.
