deer lease wanted Lampassass-Coryell-mills-hamilton area-2

Two experienced hunters seeking a do it yourself style, low fence long term deer lease. We are both in our forties and looking for a place to hunt in the area. Not looking to spend a lot, can do around 1500$ each. any tips or leads would be appreciated.

This is very feasible to find. You may either be hunting open cattle land or 25-50 acres of prime hunting land.

Im ok with live stock. my last lease had cattle on it but the owner is selling out due to age.

checked out a lease yesterday in coryell. owner did not seem to know what he was doing. he had 180 ac. with the best hunting area staked out for him self his buildings and his sheep. so in the end he was asking 4500 total for 3 hunters on 120 acres.

$4500 for 120 acres is ALMOST reasonable ( one hunter)( I assume that is year round with dove included) --- EXCEPT the land owner is going to be hunting the same land -- soooooooooo as usual it always comes down to the same question ------- what is next to it? If it borders 1,000 acre ranches, that is one thing,, if everyone near him owns 100-200 acres and hunts it, it would be a total waste of time and money.
I"ve noticed on this forum no one EVER mentions the most important issue,,, what is next to the land you want to lease.

I'd keep that guy's #, call him 2 weeks before the season and offer him the 3K for the 2 of you ------- that would put 3 hunters on 180 acres,(you 2 and him),, 60 acres each. That would be about right for $1500.

That is rediculous any way you put it. Maybe 1 hunter on 120 acres for whatever going rate is there so $1,200 to $2,400. No way would I hunt with him hunting next to it as well anyway unless you knew him well.

txduckman ---- I have never heard of a real lease lately for $1500-----so I agree with you that it is rediculous ---- but for the money, 60 acres is about all he can hope for.

I was referring to 3 guys on 120 acres in that area being rediculous. Even 2 depending on cover.
