Sad but we need to move on after 11 years - 11/30/14 09:17 PM
My hunting camp is in search of a new deer lease. The place we have been hunting for the past 11 years has been great but the surrounding properties are terribly over hunted and have severely reduced the deer population. Through two months of deer season there have only been four deer seen on our place. Yes, four. This is where I need your help.
We are looking for a place that is:
No further than 4 hours from Dallas.
Has water and electric
Family friendly
Room for seven hunters
Lots of cover, preferably oaks
Want something long term. Our owners never raised our rates throughout our entire 11 years.
I feel we need to secure something by late January 2015 since half of our money is due April 1st for the next hunting season. This will also give our current landowners time to find another group to take our spot. They have been great owners and I really don't want to put them in a bind.
