Latest Hunt With Kingsview Safaris

Hi All.

Had a great hunt recently. Each animal made us work hard for sure.
This week we are after Nyala, Bushbuck and Waterbuck...hopefully we get the same success with less effort, but I doubt it.

We only ended up with a day and a half to hunt, never managed to get onto a Bushbuck or Waterbuck but we still came away with a beautiful Nyala and great old Red Lechwe Bull.

Thanks for posting a few pics, Jono. We had an amazing trip, can't wait to get back over there. Was my third trip to Africa (Tanzania, Namibia) and was undoubtedly the best one. Kingsview safaris gets an A+ from the whole family. An excellent place to take your family - lodging/food incredible, the ranches we hunted were stunning to say the least - my wife said it was prettier than New Zealand. We took sable,waterbuck, 3 impala,2 zebra, red hartebeest, caracal,nyala, 2 kudu, baboon, 2 bushbuck, warthog, baboon, dassies... Trophy quality was outstanding, and the PH's worked hard and managed to keep the kids entertained with dassie hunting, chasing baboons, lots of memories. Can't wait to get back - hopefully we'll get another chance at maybe the 2 biggest warthogs in all of Africa (the blade runner and Jabberwocky) that gave us the slip. Jono and Jean worked hard at getting my wife and kids plenty of opportunities, Justine cooked amazing and was an excellent hostess, Elvis may be the best warthog spotter there ever was, can't say enough good things about Didier and Florbella at Zebra Lodge. If anyone has any questions regarding Kingsview, PM me and i'll call you - this trip couldn't have been better.

14 days done and dusted. It wasn't easy but we worked hard and harvested some incredible trophies.

how does it taste ?

I've seen documentaries where the locals harvest monkeys for food,,,,,
would like to know

Our trackers and skinners absolutely love the taste of Baboon and would choose it over any other game meat.
It is extremely lean with little or no fat, can't say I have eaten it as I hate the little buggers.

Nothing goes to waste on our safaris, literally nothing.

It's still a little early in the season for us and the days have been insanely hot. But when we got a call from Tessa to say she is on holiday with her folks from Germany and she has always wanted to hunt in Africa, then how could we say no. This young lady showed the maturity and respect of someone that has been hunting for over 30 years. It was a pleasure to hunt with someone who had such patience and drive to succeed. It was no easy task and she climbed a few hills before putting in a solid frontal on this old Impala ram. Waidmannsheil

Never been to the cape but it looks beautiful.

Finally some success with the Ghost in the Darkness. I had been feeding these pigs for over 2 weeks, waiting for them to come in early and become comfortable around the bait site. Hunting Bushpig is no easy task and we had 3 groups of hunters come in before we got success. These are beautiful animals and we just love hunting them. Our client sat for 6 hours before the pigs presented him with a shot, now that is patience!

Congrats to your client. I hear bush pigs are extremely wary game.

We had some of Texas finest join us on a family hunt. What an incredible hunt this was, and not just because we harvested some great animals. Wonderful people!!

Absolutely love hunting The Grey Ghost. To get a double up on the same day is even more amazing. These giants are on their way back to Pennsylvania.

Believe it or not, there are some things more important than hunting and Family is one of them! We spent an incredible week with the Reynolds family from Nebraska USA. What a pleasure to share so many cool experiences with a friendly, loving family like the Reynolds.
While father and son hunted, the wife and girls took the opportunity to explore many of the non-hunting activities we have on offer in the area. They went horse riding on the beach, quad bike riding through the mountains, went on an Elephant back safari, toured the Addo Elephant National Park and did a canopy tour through the Tsitsikamma Forest....Phew!
We were touched when they asked to visit the local creche we support to visit and spend some time with those less fortunate than themselves. It meant a lot to the boys and girls.

Finished up a great hunting trip with Brian from Georgia. Couldn't drop the hammer on a Kudu as they kept eluding us. Saw plenty of big bulls but they always had the high ground and saw us coming from far. Sneaky animals!
Still walked away with 2 great trophies and memories for a life time.

With a little break between hunting guests, we took the opportunity to spoil ourselves with a bit of hunting!
There was an old Waterbuck bull that lived along the river in a deep valley, we had seen him a few times and he had given the slip to numerous clients wanting a Waterbuck. On this particular day, we saw him along the river bank but just seemed a little off color. My wife and I put in a stalk and with one well placed shot from the missus he was down!
While skinning him out we noticed numerous puncture wounds to his chest, abdomen and hind quarters. This old fella had obviously met his match and received a severe beating. I am thankful my wife took him as he was a worthy adversary and there is much history between us.

A short trip but fun none the less. Just 3 buddies from Dubai wanting to take in all the beauty that the Eastern Cape has to offer and boy did the weather play it's part. Absolutely stunning!
Hunting, Horse Riding on the Beach, Clay Shooting, Mountain Biking and Hiking all crammed into a weekend. Good fun!!

Not long until our 2018 season begins.

I took the time to head out and do a bit of pre-hunt scouting. Such a beautiful area got me thinking...

This beauty is headed for the deep freeze. We will make Impala sausage (Wors) out of him so our guests can enjoy it over a fire at lunch while we take a break from hunting.

Memories are made out in the bush, stories shared round the fire and bodies rested for the next day. Your accommodation is so important on a safari. Intle Lodge is an amazing place and we love sharing this incredible place with our guests. .

A short little hunting trip with a group from Sweden. Was great seeing friends again and certainly one of the perks of being an Outfitter is meeting so many incredible people from around the world.

Lets get the ball rolling on this trip. Kent is here for his second trip with us and he is hitting the ground running with a fantastic Lechwe Bull shot along the river banks.

We didn't have much time on this hunt and the Zebra gave us the run around through every valley and mountain on the concession, but the boys from Salt Lake City dug in deep and never stopped working hard. Dropping a big old stallion and beautiful Nyala bull.

What a great hunt this was.

Been a very busy past couple days. Busy but successful. We hosted two gentlemen from Saudi Arabia each taking an Impala and two of Vermont's finest as Gary and David worked through a variety of animals.

A very nice couple from Germany hunting in South Africa for the first time. The Kudu gave us a real run around for a couple days, strong cold winds and a nearby fire with heavy smoke seemed to keep them on edge. None the less we came away with some great animals and had a fantastic time.

Managed to squeeze in one day of hunting for myself. Took my best friend along and thankfully we connected on this giant. Very tough hunt and surely one that will never leave the memory bank.

Very nice Eland. I went on my first safari in 1993 and failed to get an eland. They just never stopped running, and they where always running!!! My second safari was in 2014 and an eland was at the very top of my list. Now it's one of my favorite mounts on the wall!!!

Yes sir, this big fella certainly lived up to that, they ran over valleys without breaking a sweat. Pure luck was on our side, a hard of Giraffe bumped them back into a valley as we were approaching. A quick setup and 2 shots later he was down. The retrieval on the other hand.......

Epic pictures

A very challenging hunt. Temps hit 107'F which made for some dangerous conditions. We hunted early and thankfully some well placed shots got the job done. A very happy client from Norway.

Had a wonderful family from German and a Father/Son from the Czech Republic get our 2019 season up and running. What a great hunt and fantastic people. Always a pleasure meeting people from all over the world. And even more humbled that they would choose us for their hunting safari.

Our season is truly up and running. We had Tony from Wyoming hunting with his bow and Nils from Germany brought his family for a short hunting trip.

Kent and Jody made it out for their 3rd trip with us in 2 years. Always a pleasure seeing them, hunting with them and spending time round the fire laughing at past hunts.

We welcomed back Darrack and his lovely wife Veronica for their second trip with us. Another incredible trip with amazing people.

We had the honor of hosting Buck and Kim from Georgia for 2 weeks. This trip was 2 years in the planning and it certainly lived up to the hype, with Buck hunting a Buffalo with his bow. What a fantastic trip and an awesome couple to share a camp fire with.

We managed to squeeze in two hunting trips before everything went crazy in the world and the boarders were shut. I hope it all clears soon and we can continue with our livelihood.

Starting off the 2021 Season with a literal bang!

Got Brian onto a beautiful Nyala and he did a great job taking it with his cross bow. We ended the day with some sundowners as we leave for the coast in the morning.

Brian and Lisa ended off their safari down at our coastal concession where we hunted this old warrior of a Bushbuck ram and hooked into this nice big Ragged Tooth Shark (Nurse shark).

Another incredible trip with a fantastic family from Washington. Travel is getting easier and there was zero hassles. Long may it last.

What are the current protocols for flying into SA? Are they requiring any quarantine after arriving or before departing?

No sir, no quarantine needed. Only requirement is to produce a negative Covid test within 72 hours of your departure. While in South Africa you will then do another test within 72 hours of leaving, as long as it is negative you are all good to go.
We are on our 5th group of hunters for the year all from the States. No issues and all returned home without quarantine.

Another exciting trip wrapped up. This one was certainly one for the memory bank. It wasn't only the hunting that was top notch but the company, the talking rubbish round the fire, sharing stories and laughing at each others mishaps through the trip.
Colton from San Angelo in Texas and Beau from Sulphur Louisiana joined us for an incredible time.

Congrats to the hunters

Looks like a fantastic area!

Last hunt of the year ended on a good note. Beautiful Golden Wildebeest taken in the mountains of the Karoo.

And then looking forward to getting stuck into these boys in 2022. With the good summer rains, we currently having there should be plenty of grass and forage in the thickets for them. Which means they going to be big, fat, and very mean when its time to go after them.

A seriously big coastal pig taken at the last light on the final day.

I was privileged to hunt alongside Daniel and his father Andy from South Carolina. These guys sure knew how to shoot.

Finished up a great hunt with two very special and dedicated hunters from Texas. A mother and son that gave it their all and showed the true spirit of hunting in Africa.
