Need help getting a doe - Offer inside - 10/06/15 01:49 AM

I manage a Hilton property in Houston. I can trade either a weekend stay at my hotel, or if you travel I can get discounts (HUGE) like 29.00 a night for Hampton Inns - 39.99 for embassy suites and Hilton Garden Inns ect.

Anyone interested in trading access to their land/ lease to get a doe?

I know strange offer haha

Is hunt county too far? Do you bow or crossbow hunt?

Re: Need help getting a doe - Offer inside - 10/06/15 07:15 PM

I live in Houston, Texas willing to travel within 3 hours of Houston. I use a Compound bow, or during rifle season I can use a Rifle or Bow.

Ft. Worth is within that distance (a little further but not bad).

Hunt County could be within that distance depending on if its the north side or south side of the county.

I have an extra doe or two.

Mason is a bit out of your stated travel range, but if you come here for a day hunt, your chances of picking up a doe or a cull buck are excellent. PM me to discuss further if you're interested.

It is, but he's bartering with his employers dinero. I believe your employer might consider this a fireable offense, you should remove it from public viewing asap. Sorry to be a stick in the mud, but I have your best interest at heart, sir.

I downloaded the named above employee handbook and found this excerpt....
"All Hilton assets
must be protected from misuse, damage,
misappropriation or theft, and Hilton
assets should never be used for personal
gain or unlawful purposes. Remember
that theft, carelessness and waste have a
direct impact on our bottom line."

Depending on his dm they may not have a problem with it. I get the same travel passes for light help at one by me and have met the dm. There are just sometimes restrictions on if there is a big event in town or if it is a straight tourist trap location more power to the bartering system and keep on keeping on. They could see it as a bonus to keeping employee Moral up. I mean if not booked not loosing anything g but 15 min of clean up. So no problem there at all I hope you get a doe to feed you and your family.

And there is still a fee to be paid on the room so no losses there.

Re: Need help getting a doe - Offer inside - 10/11/15 09:24 PM

That is wrong, wrong, wrong! It is posted on a public forum and this would be well above the dm level. HR is the honey badger of the business world.

Well I hate to tell you bud but I have not had lawn care at my bussiness in several years. The landscaping still looks fantastic and it is all sustained by bartering and trading of my services. I grew up in a town of less than 200 and learned to barter at an early age. I also barter for my hair cut my owner loves it because I'm always clean cut and just adds to my unpresidented leval of client sevice that is second to none. This is all a numbers game sometimes giving away leads to higher return. Corporate restaurant managers have a card that they can swipe and Comp any meal they want as long as the numbers match up on the bottom on there are no worries. I had a manager at one of my locations that was concerned his sales were down I had him add a person to each shift and said don't worry about the labor for a few weeks. Not only did his sales go up because of faster service time his labor went down because of the added sales. The bottom line is numbers that's all it is in the corporate world. If he is ecstatic about his hunt attitude turns over into his guest his reviews go up he gets more clients it's all a win-win. As long as he is making improvements and not doing any slanderous things aginst the company go for it. Come to think of it just seeing this makes me ready for my stay at a Hampton property coming up see free advertisement as well.

Re: Need help getting a doe - Offer inside - 10/11/15 10:05 PM

Well let me tell you, we aren't debating if bartering is right or wrong. We are debating a violation of employee conduct. I don't care what your experience is (or mine) if he offers corporate assets for personal gain, he is in effect stealing from his company. They may not care, or he could lose his job.

If it's your company, or the company benefitting from the barter then no violation. That is not what is being offered. Again, I am not against anything that is being offered in principal, I just don't want somebody to lose their job over $200 give or take. I have dealt with this time and time again, it simply isn't worth it.

Re: Need help getting a doe - Offer inside - 10/11/15 10:45 PM

No worries enter standman like you stated this is a public forum and we can debate all maner of things. Age/score/trade a trip vs. Stealing- bartering/ flat shooting guns/ broad heads ect ect ect. They are all opinions and all welcome here. None may be right or wrong just opinions. My opinion is I hope he gets a doe if I was closer I have plenty but I'm northern hill country. Good luck to both of y'all on your seasons. If we all had the same opinion there would be no need for THF or TFF that we all enjoy so much. Just remember next time you check a post on the clock my opinion is your milking the clock same as stealing. So at least we have had something to talk about seeing as the cowboys are not doing well to entertain GO RANGERS bolt

Haha hope not. I know I can wheel and deal like that with out worry of my job. it not only saves money but brings in more and I'm commended on it. I do know there are places that don't see it that way though. Hey pro caddie you get up around brown county mid week in gun season give me a shout.

Re: Need help getting a doe - Offer inside - 10/14/15 01:31 AM

How is taking a client on a hunt for trade misuse of company time? It is purely coincidence that I get to enjoy it too. Trolls are always funny to step in and talk about such things they know nothing of. The quote above for one is part of the Hilton family quote and if a Hilton operated hotel, it also does not take into consideration the sales spect of the client's enjoyment. I have maintained many relationships with the use of hunting trips based on trade outs.

How do you think I get the gifts for my employee Christmas party? I trade for them. Common practice in the hotel world.

Now let's get back to the real point of the thread now that all the trolls have been addressed. Maybe come up with something yourself worthy of a trade and get a hunt for yourself. Or keep trolling which is what you like to do anyway.

Obviously you took this the wrong way. I see you feel challenged and feel the need to come strong with the name calling. To each his own, go back and read the thread a little more carefully and you will see I was only concerned about the way the offer was worded with no explanation that the hunt you were seeking was business related (honestly it did not cross my mind), and for that I apologize. As for the name calling and hateful tone, that is on you. IMO there is no room for that on this forum, I still wish you well on your hunt and hope it is a safe one.

Re: Need help getting a doe - Offer inside - 10/14/15 06:45 AM

I was not name calling anyone specifically, only those bashing with out knowing details or facts. Those who speak without knowledge but think they have the information to speak are known as trolls on line. You even took time to look up an employee hand book, which does not teven pertain to my company, in attempts to shame what I was doing. You even tried to have the loose removed. That is not just " being worried" about how I worded the post. Did I said I need to kill a doe for myself only? I mearly stated I needed to kill a doe and this is what I have to offer. Did you on me for more details on my offer? No.

Speaking out against someone's perfectly legitimate post without knowledge or information that would truly allow you to speak out is trolling.

I thank you for your concern. I have not gotten this far in life by "stealing from my company."

Now anyone want to make a trade? Haha

I dated a woman that managed a hotel for a few years so I learned a good bit about how they work. I travel a lot and I never did have to pay full price for a hotel cause of her. I don't see anything wrong with the Ops proposal. What some of you don't know is that a lot of the employees are given vouchers for discounted nights. some places give more than others some don't give them at all. Point is once that voucher is given to the employee its theirs to do with as they please. The front desk is also given a certain amount to Comp... certain people. mostly the complainers just to shut them up. I stay in Houston a lot and if my lease wasn't 6 hours from there I would be more than happy to bring him shoot a few does.
