Brand new lodging is available on the ranch with individual rooms and bathrooms. Lodging overlooks the Frio River and there is a BBQ/fire pit to enjoy in the evenings.

We have very nice lodging that includes sat tv with big screens, bbq/fire pits, ac/heat, gutting/cleaning area, full kitchen, bathrooms, etc.

Well, I don't have game camera pics today but I do have some pics from a successful hunt off our place in Kerrville. I thought I would post it here and share regardless. Frio county place pics will be here tomorrow. The rut has still not fully kicked off just yet so things will be nice and exciting for Christmas.

Just something to think about.....I never had a 3 beam buck carry the 3rd beam from one year to the next. Most managers I know have had similar experience with their known bucks. If he is mature in your program you might want to consider taking him. It is usually a one year thing most of the time because the 3rd beam is the result of an injury to the rack usually early on during velvet.

Here are a few game camera pix that just came in. One of the cameras needs the date adjusted. I am hoping to get the other cards soon so we can see what is out there.

What did ole Tripod score? If I would have known he was on the shoot list, I would have made plans to hunt him but I was thinking you were hunting him. Congrats to the hunter that got him, regardless of score he is a very unique and great looking buck.

My dad and I both took some nice bucks this year so Tripod was on the hit list. We just had another buck show up on camera that has a split third beam. Hopefully, that streak continues with extra beams out there. I like em.

A lot of really good looking deer.

Bryan and his group are awesome! I've had the pleasure of going to the property and couldn't ask for a more honest, fair group of guys. My BIL shot a beautiful buck there and we picked up the mount for him as he lives a ways away. Thought I'd show y'all how it turned out. I was sad to send it back home to him, haha!



Tried to hold a pop can up there to show just how massive the body on this buck was, but it doesn't do him justice. They've got some amazing animals there!

Southern hospitality stand out at your facility. Everyone was so nice and inviting which made the trip that much more enjoyable. The amount of deer and the shear size of the whitetails on you ranch, make it worth the trip (21 hour trip that would be). I would like to thank Matt your guide who rattled those bucks in, his experience in the woods stands out. I never knew what was coming around the the next bush I kept my head on a swivel, looking for that next 160 in or 170 in buck to run by, lots of 140 in and 150 in bucks. The only thing I will remember, next year will be my Binoculars, I can't wait for next year, when me and my boys come down to hunt on Friocountyhunts. Great experience thanks again Bryan

It costs $300 an inch at 156"+. So, take the 155" @$4,500 and add till you get to your score. Let me know if I explained that right or reach out with any questions.

Hell of a year, thanks to everyone that made it enjoyable! I am already having withdrawals...at least we have two more weeks of doe/spike season!

I was able to get my wife on a buck this last weekend. A 6.5 year old 8pt that she dropped at 220 yards while walking!

New to this forum. I have a hunt booked with Brian the last weekend of the season. taking son and grandson on doe hunt and staying at the ranch. From what ia have seen and the dealings I have had with Brian, it should be a top notch trip. More as it happens.

Had the pleasure of hunting of hunting at Bryan's place this past weekend. It was an awesome experience not just for myself but the other group who was there had great things to say as well.

I am going back for spring turkey and hopefully in December to have a chance at the huge buck we saw while hunting does. The pictures Bryan has posted are a very accurate description of the quality of deer his property holds.

Well, here is an update on our hunt this past week end. Colt met myself, my son and grandson mid afternoon and we got settled into our room at the ranch. We had some time before we were to go hunting so Colt took us to check on some feeders and maybe see a deer to shoot. Colt checked the feeders but we didn't see any deer so we went back to the cabin to rest up a bit and get ready for our afternoon hunt.
A guide named Able came in and it was decided that he would take my son and grandson hunting and I would hunt with Colt. After putting some corn out before the feeder went off, we got in the blind. Less than 15 minutes into the hunt a HUGE 9 pointer walked out. It looked like his antlers were outside his body he was so big. He stayed until the feeder went off. He bolted when it went off but came back. After a while a big 6 came out and joined the big guy. Then a doe walked out from the other side and I decided to take her before she walked between the bucks. I got the doe and we got back to camp before dark. Even though Able worked hard, unfortunately my sons didn't get a doe.
Able was not coming back Saturday morning so another guide named Brian took my sons hunting and my grandson took his first doe with my son watching. I still can't decide who was more excited my grandson, my son, or Brian. Brian helped walk my grandson through the quartering process and a big thanks to Able and Brian for being patient!
We were able to meet the owners of the ranch when they came out to do some wail hunting. They are some great guys. But they didn't get any birds. We did see a lot of quail driving around and while tracking my deer in the woods.
I am here to tell you that from dealing with Brian (the owner) to the great guides (Colt, Brian, and Able), to
the absolutely first class accommodations, to the fire pit overlooking the Frio River (30 feet away) to the fully furnished kitchen, that this was truly a great and pleasurable experience. Brian always returned my calls and emails within a few hours. I can guarantee that we will be back next season. Thanks Brian for a great hunt!

I just returned home from a successful hunt with Frio County Hunts. I decided to go after reading this thread and it was even better than what has been described here. Beautiful free range property with lots of quality bucks and light hunting pressure. The owners and guides are very nice honest people and went above and beyond to ensure I had a great trip. The lodging is very comfortable with a private room and bath for each hunter. I did not keep count of how many great bucks I saw because there were so many and I took home a beautiful mature 10 pt. Very happy hunter.

Found my self with a free afternoon last week and went out to the Wilson Ranch in Frio County. Bryan was nice enough to arrange the hunt kinda at the last minute. Met my guide Mike at the gate. Took me on a quick tour of the ranch had a very nice bunk house overlooking the Frio river. I was just hunting for the afternoon and did not stay at the camp but it was a very nice set up. Shot one doe within a couple of minutes of getting in the blind. Unfortuently as if is with hunting, saw several not deer but they never presented a shot. Had a great hunt and got my meat doe I was looking for! I would definently consider going back again and the guys at the Wilson Ranch will take care of you.

Had a similar experience last night! Last minute, but Bryan worked me in. Lot's of wildlife at the ranch. Went for a doe, but came home with a hog and I'm more than happy. Great folks and no hidden costs. I've been looking for reputable place within driving distance of San Antonio and I think just found it. I'll be going back!

Bryan is a Top Notch Outfitter, running a Top Notch Operation.

I had a guide need to cancel on me due to family emergency. Called FCH 2 days before scheduled hunt (and Christmas) to see if he could take care of me and my 2 daughters last minute. Call and Bryan answers on first ring, asks a few questions and says, no problem. We had a great time, Bryan treated my girls as if they were his own. That goes a long way w me. my 11 year old also got her first buck and I got my personal best as well. Was gonna post pics but they came up upside down. Lol.
Another note :the original guide was extremely upset and apologetic about the whole situation and him canceling was beyond his control.

We have had a nice season with plenty of dads coming out to hunt and we always love that. I also figured some game camera pictures never hurt anything either. We have seen quite a few management bucks here lately and it seems like the later part of the season has much more activity which is great as the beginning was slow as molasses minus me getting a buck. Just finished a hunt with my son at Frio County hunts. Bryan and his Dad Mike, as well as Mike and Colt all went out of their way to make our a success. Super nice people! My son and I both took a nice management buck. My Son got his within an hour on the first evening. I got mine the next morning. The second evening we sat together with Mike to try to get some does. My son killed one in about 15 minutes. He then killed another a bit later and let me shoot one as well. Then he got to take a nice hog as well. Great place, great people! I plan on returning for sure!

I wanted to post some recent game camera pictures and let everyone know that we are booking hunts for this upcoming whitetail season. Here are some more game camera pics. Let me know if anyone is interested in a low fence deer hunt! There seems to be a good crop of deer this year and we are hoping for another successful season.

We also provide guided thermal hog hunts in peanut fields for spot and stalk action. We can typically get less than 50 yards from a group of pigs (when downwind) and then use the suppressed ARs with thermal scopes to eradicate some crop wreckers!

Frio County Hunts made a dream come true for me this year with my personal best buck. Bryan and crew are first class and the ranch is beautiful and full of quality animals. Thanks to all at Frio County Hunts for another stellar year.

I too hunted with the Frio guys this season. While I didn't get my buck, I wanted to return and will next season, if possible. I recommend this outfit!

Howdy all, I wanted to share these nice two bucks that were taken earlier this week. I saw the wide one late last year and he was just as wide but had broke off every point except for his main beams, looked like a super spike! Any guesses on the width? This other is a nice mature 10 point. Both taken by THF members! We have been seeing some nice bucks lately and not too much rut activity to report yet.

The buck in the first pic: Just a wild guess but I would say he is 24 4/8" inside!!! And probably shot with a .257 Weatherby magnum!
